I just bought my first parcel of land, and have placed a pre-fab house on it. i bought a couch from a store, but can't place it due to object limits being exceeded. I've taken everything off the land, except the bare house, but it still doesn't fit.

Is there any way to put the couch there? It seems a bit silly that I can put a house on the land, but not even furnish it with a single item of furniture! Please help.

If you bought a 512sq.m parcel, then they have a prim limit of 117. To check how many drops/prims untill you hit your limit, click the bar at the top of your screen where it says the parcels name and co-ordinates. You should now have the 'About Land' window open. Click the tab named 'Objects',there you will find how many you can drop total, and how many spare you have.

The only way to get a higher prim limit is to buy more land unfortunatly. :(

Lord Wishbringer is right. You have the prim allowance you have and you have to work with that, or buy more land. The probem is not that you can't put a house on your land and then add furniture, but you can't *that* house on your land and then add furniture :)

There are a number of low-prim houses around including some free ones, that are as litle as 30 prims. If you can find one of those (and if you can't then I have one I can let you have) then you will be able to use your couch, and more besides.

And it is worth checking how many prims the things you buy are as well. A couch is not always a couch! Some couches are 1,2,3 prim jobs and do marvellous things with textures. Others are simply textured with lots of prims. The difference between them can be crucial.

The couch and the house are too many prims between each other as others have stated.. You can check how many prims things are by right clicking the land, choosing about land, and then going to the objects tab, it will show you how many objects you have free, how many you/other people own etc..

You can find out how many prims a specific object is by right clicking it, choosing edit, clicking more, and going to the general tab..

Check how many prims the couch uses; you can rez things in a sandbox to llok at them and count prims.

And...always be careful in what you buy.

I have seen so many objects (houses, furniture, etc) that just throw prims around like their the worlds best thing to have. Sprinkle of prim here, sprinkle of prim there...oh, now I have a 512-sized house that's 10238 prims...

:)

Prim waste is ESPECIALLY prevalent in homes..but I've also seen it used quite effectively in furniture. I've seen couches that could maximize a 512 plot on their own.

It'd be really nice if we could get a prim count on items without rezzing them.

Daimonos Thetan has a nice 12 prim house. That'll leave you with 105 prims for furnishings.

thanks, everyone. I managed to find a low prim house (27 prims), and have furnished it with low prim items.

love you!
