Ok, after my thread Kitchens and Bathrooms in SL homes? it became very much aparent there is demand for kitchens and bathrooms in SL. So I have some questions..

What level of useability do you want/need? Do you want to cupboards and appliances to open? If so, do you want things inside? Like drinks and food inside your fridge. Given this will quite easily double the prims. Do you want pots and pans? Do you want prim sinks, or textured ones?

Do you want the sets sold as a whole, already in a shape, or as a whole kitchen, but in bits so you can position them about your room? Or as individule peices?

What about bathrooms? Do you want them just for show, or do you want animations for bathing? Do you want water in the bath? Or water to apear on touch and then disapear on another touch?

Never having had either in my SL home I'm really at a loss.. I took a look round some places selling kitchens, some sold the sets in boxes, but in individule parts, some sold the kitchens as a whole. Some sold individule parts on there own. Some had animations for washing your hands.

I saw fridges that were 1 prim, simple, and fridges that were 40 prims, that opened, had things inside, and had a poseball on the fridge for getting water.

Anyway! Lots of questions, so you better get started :)

I'll include a poll with some answers, but please post as well.

'Set' kitchens with several modules on them. So they start off as a row of blank boxes that you click and it gives you the option of fridge, cupboard, oven with work top, kitchen hob, etc. Then it rezzes them in place and can be easily changed. This'll save the laypeople from having to rez and position individual pieces one by one while keeping the flexibility of a customizable kitchen. They just buy a generic inline module, L module, or island module and click away to create their own.

why just the 'Barbie Doll' house scenario though?? Imean realistically I find it cool to see all aspects 'Business Properties included' to have full effect if it's going to be done in that way.

I find nothing wrong with the presentation of an 'Mens/Womens/It's' Facilities to complete the immersion.

I'm moving this thread to the Building discussion forum - possibly a better place for research about SL builds. :)

I am sorry to say (write) but so far I have never in a building built by me included a real kitchen or bathroom.

I once did a kitchen bar look alike room....

I have used a refrigerator and a stove to a cafe build...

But my clients are not the type that need such in SL to feel at ”home”.... And in the house I live and lived it wasent included either...

I answer your question as I am aware of that in SL there are plenty of people that love to have them.. and I love that SL and we designers/builders can satisfy al kinds of needs...

And last a good luck in your project! You are good in many of your designes!!! BTW!! - I still have you bed.. that i bought as one of the first things in SL! At that time I had no home but I loved the bed!:-)))

Actually, the building forum is a poor place for this discussion - because it's very nature is to seek information on what the buyers want (I.E. marketing), not to do research on building.
