Not sure if this is a 'script' question or an 'animation' question...so maybe someone here can help me out.

Can I 'control' facial animations/expressions and 'lock' them in place to 'hold' an expression?

What I mean is, for example, If you create a gesture in the game to 'wink'....you're avatar will close one eye, then open it...thus winking. I imagine that I could also perform this same 'wink' with a script by starting that animation.

What if I'd like to 'freeze' the wink in the 'eye closed' position so that the avatar is 'holding' one eye shut?

Also, is it possible to script and control the 'eyes' of the avatar? To make the avatar 'watch' or 'stare' at something. Not just moving their head like they do when you click on another avatar, but actually control their eyes.

I see lots of 'idle' facial expressions and movements in SL and was just curious about if its possible to control them via a script?

Thanks!

See this thread. But I'm afraid that you can't expect so much. :(
And if you want to try to do that easiliy, go to Yadni's Junkyard and get "FaceAnimCube". :D

Thankyou for finding that thread for me :)

That at least gave me an idea in a direction to go and a means to be able to control at least part of it.

Now if only I can figure out how to control what the avatar 'looks at' (where their eyes move) in a script.

Thanks!

I don't think you can move your default eyeballs but you can create any eyeballs' objects and attach. And you can use llLookAt or something. But the next problem is that you can't get any return code when you click on another avatar without their attaching exclusive script. I don't think you can do that way. :(
