From: Talthybius Brevity weird. i wonder what illusion i've seen at work to make it seem like it's happening. you can't temporarily give ownership and take it back can you? Nope. You can give copy and have them then attach it but that is the only way I can think it would work. Are you sure it was an attachment that you saw work in this method as opposed to a sit animation/pose?

You're right, it must've been a sit pose i saw I've been banging my head on this one for too long now and can't seem to find an answer to it: I've got this set to rez a prim at a certain place in space relative to the location of the root prim of the mothership object. that is working. however, the rotation of the rezzed prim is staying static relative to north, rather than rezzing with its rotation relative to the rotation of the root prim from which it spawned. Here's what's working for location but not for rotation: llRezObject("ExhalePrim-200612090015", llGetPos() + <0.02, 0.18, 0.95>, ZERO_VECTOR, ZERO_ROTATION, 42);I tried this, which seemed to have no effect: llRezObject("ExhalePrim-200612100016", llGetPos() + <0.02, 0.13, 0.95>, ZERO_VECTOR, llGetRot(), 42);could you show me how I can set the rotation of the rezzed prim to be relative to the rotation of the root prim of the object from which it rezzed?

aha. well i fixed that problem with what i found herenow i can't seem to figure out how to get the particles to emit in a direction relative to the rotation of the prim.

From: Talthybius Brevity aha. well i fixed that problem with what i found herenow i can't seem to figure out how to get the particles to emit in a direction relative to the rotation of the prim. Look at the particle parameters PSYS_SRC_INNERANGLE and PSYS_SRC_OUTERANGLE.

From: Newgate Ludd Look at the particle parameters PSYS_SRC_INNERANGLE and PSYS_SRC_OUTERANGLE. thanks. i looked, but my newbie eyes aren't able to do anything with it. And though they're depreciated do the still work? if so, can you show me an example of how to use that to see the direction the particles are emitted relative to the rotation of the prim? to be more specfic the prim is on its side with the particles coming out the 'top' which is now a side. thanks newg (others feel free to chime in.
