An LSL Scripting Book?

Hi. Just wanted to thank all the people that are into Linden Scripting Language, so I compiled a little book of all the stuff I thought interesting. If anybody wants a .doc version of the same file, please let me know.

How is one to use such a file? I opened it, and I'm quite confused lol

Dude, if you are gonna rip-off someone's work wholesale and claim it as your own, you might wish to remove the author's names and copyright on page 5.

I probably shouldn't mention that the authoritative place for LSL documentation is on the LSL Wiki as that would probably only confuse things.

He never claimed he wrote it, in fact he very clearly stated he "compiled" the information. The book is just various documentation and code that he thought might be useful to someone in a more convenient form.

You are correct; my apologies to the original poster for skimming too hastily and making a false accusation.

Very nice resource. One thing to mention, as Introvert eluded to, is that the LSL Wiki will be updated once in a while (ie: when new versions come out). Plus being able to skip around functions that are related to each other is handy. But this is a great one-stop source.

since LL has no idea how to use php CMS systems none of the attachments before the change were saved

probally a great resource ... but one will never know

May be they where stolen along with all our credit card details....

I am thinking that there may have been information in the wiki that somehow helped the hackers breach LL's sytems. That would explain why the wiki is down and might be why the attachment was removed.

Totally a guess of course, but those do seem to be the indications.

If that's true, then I am totally ok with both actions. No sense making this stuff easier for the hackers after all.

That being said, I am seriously jonsin for the wiki. I want to work on my scripts!!

Was the attack scripted then? I was under the impression that it was a web site driven attack, i.e. through what ever web server they are using.

Yes, a book would be great! I want something I can read in bed to learn LSL rather than having to wade through 100's of webpages. Please report or email/forward me a copy of this book.

It looks nice. I am always in to reading books. Tutorials never seem to work for me. I trid to learn javascript by reading tutorials and it never helped. I finally just got a book and read it and I was fine. Same thing with ruby and XML.

Tutorials work for some people but they are so fragmented.

As I understand it, the hack went through the wiki server software itself.

ahhh that explains a few things! (like pulling the wikki offline)
