Say NO to Bloodlines!

Like a lot of people I have been having a big problem with Bloodline users harassing my customers at Freebie Paradise. You see bloodlines is a horrible pyramid scam of a game masked loosely as role play. The "Vampire" players wear a hud and run around asking people if they can bite them via a hud that try's to animate the person being asked. They rank by biting as many formerly unbitten people as possible. When a person is bitten it puts there name on a website as one of the players "catches?". Now I have no problem with people doing whatever they would like in sl. I do have a problem with people harassing new players in my establishment who are in no way involved in vampire role play. They are there to shop and work on there appearances, not be spammed by this low rate game. I have a bot that is a group invite bot. People click a sign, she sends the invite. A lot of bloodline players don't seem to catch on to the fact that she isn't real, so she has been getting an increasing number of bite requests daily. I put up a "do not bite my customers" sign. That didn't work. I put up a greeter at the door that says "NO BLOODLINES" when they land at the parcel. That doesn't work. I got a request as I was remodeling the sim. Now I'm getting messages from customers telling me who is harassing them. I shouldn't be hearing a thing about a game that I am not involved with and have no interest, but now it's become a daily part of my Second Life and I'm not happy.



So along comes Yohan Pintens. I'm not sure why he did it. Probably a mix of him being sick of me bitching about bloodlines, and his willingness to help the sl community, But Yohan has created a Buffy Bot! Buffy sits nicely on your parcel and if anyone sends her a bite request, she instantly ejects and bans them. She can also just warn them but I prefer the eject option myself. Buffy is a program that runs outside of sl and works with an alt. And what's even cooler than the fact that he made this amazing Bloodlines defense tool? And since there really isn't a script, you might be able to reach a larger audience by posting it in the Resident Answers forum. This way it will also get to the people who haven't scrolled all the way to the end of the "Getting Fed up with Vampires" thread.

personally i'd pay for it came with the whole scooby gang, and pay well if it included a decent Vamp Willow (what!? she was cute)

Can it be made to run without a GUI (I don't install X on my colo servers)?

No idea about the GUI thing. But yea I probably should have posted to resident answers. I just wasn't sure where to put it.

it's really nice, if you have a spare window to leave open in yoru shop 24/7. I can't run sl 24/7 but it looks like a neat thing, and for FREE even!

It's been working well for me. I run my group invite bot, this bot, my own SL and I usually have another window open looking at SLUinverse or ebay ;.) I can never do one thing at a time.

I'd love it if there was some freebie that would automatically check the Bloodlines website and add all active player names to my Mute List on a semi-regular basis.

I can't be logged in to SL at all certain times of the day *wink* I do multi-task, but there are times I just cannot be logged into sl.

Between this and the Buffy bot, it might finally end this rather obnoxious game (I could dream at least)

and what if some of your friends played then you'd mute them simply for what they do when not with you, i know some bloodlines players are jackasses but what about the ones that don't harass anyone, hell I've never sent a request to someone i hadn't been talking to for like 20 minutes first...so while yes even myself deals with the occasional idiot and from more sources than bloodlines please don't hate us all for that reason.

Eliminate 100% of the tards from your game, and we won't have a problem, eh?

It just affects the people that try to bite the bot. Which means those tards that randomly try to bite people.

there are tards everywhere in sl, and LL does nothing to stop them. SL is the game. my wife was run over 3 times while building her first house mere hours after signing up by some neighbor, when he realized he missed he promptly turned around for another run. simply put anyone can be a tard it seems under the proper circumstances

What are you, Casper the Friendly Vampire? "*sigh* I don't have any friends!" Come on, if you're going to spend SL as a feared and loathed creature who makes a habit of literally sucking the life out of people, wouldn't you kind of expect people to want to avoid you?
