Easy sit target question....

I have the easy sit target setter that someone gave me. I used it in my chair and it worked just fine. I wanted to use it to put in a bench. I spoke to a friend that builds and she said that you can only put as many people on an object as there are prims. This doesn't seem right somehow. I have heard about antiposeball. Can you use the easy taget sitter in each prim if they are linked and make it work that way? Just for the record I am a relative newbie who understands the basics of building and I am getting lost when it comes to scripting. I know what I want but not how to make it happen. Is antiposeball the only way or can you use the easy sit target?

Thank you in advance!

You can do that, that is what it is made for:)
When you do that you eliminate the use of poseballs.
I don't understand what "antiposeball " is, never heard about it.

You can do that in a way(make two Avatars sit on one prim I mean):
After the first one is seated change llSitTarget() so much there is room for another Avatar. The first Avatar will remain seated and the second will sit on the second target. It should be possible to seat more Avatars this way.

Sure, you can use llSetPrimitiveParams to move the avatars into place and take permissions as needed. Strife Onizuka remarked he was working on a system like that a few months ago.

Correct, but Easy Sit Target Positioner won't do that (support multiple sitters on one prim). You'd either need to script it yourself, or find a product that does.

Seems to me there would be complications when trying to also use animations. You'd either need multiple scripts (because a script can have animate permission for at most one avatar), or you'd have to be careful with the single script and hope that SL always turns off the animation on unsit. (It's a lot better about that than it used to be.)

Also, it would be tricky for a single script to know who's still sitting, because all it would get is a key on sit and NULL_KEY on stand -- if there are two sitters, who stood?

IMHO, it's generally more trouble than it's worth: either use multiple seat cushion prims, or use poseballs. No doubt it has its place for special cases.

Piero Padar's Perfect Sitter, which I use quite a lot, and can whole-heartedly recommend if you don't mind spending 2.5K lindens, does this. http://www.slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=152315 pretty effectively.

You can tell how many people are sitting by getting a count of prims(aka links) in the object, and test each link if they're an avatar with [some function I forgot]. Its doable, anyways, and if you capture each seated avatar's key into a list when they enter the sit event you can manage them however you want. Research in the wiki under various link and prim and object functions.
