New Titler

I am interested in creating a "Flip Titler" Hovering text script to put over my Avatar that has multiple options such as Scrolling... Flashing.. Color Changing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

added the llSetAlpha(0.0, ALL_SIDES); to the state entry to make the prim which the script is on and attached to you completely invis.

this should run did not like the functions w/o a dec var guess you have to dec it when you call the function and not use globals. Heh i hate syntax and semantics.

BY the way this should be for personal use or give away free. Please be kind, respect open source, and if you modify it resubmit code, and dont sell also give credit where credit is due.
the above script is all origional code hand written to help support the community =)

In the set color section you could add more flexability by letting the person input a specific color vector instead of preset word commands. Then they could make the word color anything they wanted without restriction.

Of course the draw back in doing it this way is that the person has to know about color vectors to begin with.

Right you could also add logic to it to check and see if the input is a vector instead of a word and have it do both.

This is working very nicely.. im just not sure how to use the color or flash modes.. as in

And Dimentox for heavens sake use Else if's!!!!!!

A simple help for Dinentox's Titler script:


Change Float Text (title) of Titler:

/1 title your-float-title-text-here


Change text Color:

/1 red

/1 green


Turn Flashing ON:

/1 flashon

Turn Flashing OFF:

/1 flashoff


Note: These commands as scripted are not case-sensitive.

Heh yeah i shoulda used elseifs.
PHP has me spoiled on that one. It was something real quick ment as a guideline not as a complete script.

All my other scripts use if else-if else i was at work and typing in a hurry

LOL, Yes go use the free one at that guys sim. This was ment to be an example not a complete script. This was ment as a framework for further devolpment. If you wanna work on adding features and such use this if you want a complete one go to that guys place (since he is advertizeing it quite a bit in the post). heh.

I visited The Vare's yard sale in Hibdon and picked up a few nice bargains but yes I am interested in writing or adding to existing scripts so I have been looking at some of the open source scripts in the Library and I guess ill give it a try and create the scrolling effect or marquee on the titler.
