I'll pay 3000L$ for the first workaround to this bug:

In the end, I gave up.

Shoutcast doesn't work, because when you try to do "on demand" it doesn't stream it, just sends across the mp3 file, which doesn't work.

Hopefully LL will fix this bug.

Work around:

Set SL to a window then start up Winamp. You can change as much as you wish and it will not effect the client nor make you or anyone else relog.

Being my solution is the only one that will actually work, where is my $3000? :)

Submit it to the Lindens as a reproducable bug and you might get $2000 that way you will only need to pony up an extra $1000 to pay me.

What exactly are you trying to do ( and I don't mean from a coding side )

Are you trying to make it so that you can switch to a particular song from within SL or is it something else entirely ?

I don't know LSL at all ( so why am I even looking at the scripting forum ? : ) ) but have a fair bit of serverside audio/streaming knowledge so may be able to offer advice from a different point of view :)

I need to switch the stream between different ogg files on demand. My material is in OGG file format. I implemented shoutcast, but

a) it doesn't deal with ogg files
b) it will do mp3 files on demand, but it doesn't encode them

There are solutions where you can encode mp3s (and maybe even ogg files) and send them up through a shoutcast server, but that's not what I'm looking for. I need to set the stream url to something.ogg more than 30 times and it needs to play everytime.

I've filed many a bug report. Hopefully it gets fixed.

I'm assuming this is a joke. If you are serious, please re-read the thread and if you need further information, please contact me and I'll happily clear up any misunderstandings that may have occured.
