My chairs worked fine a couple days ago. And all I've done is move down 500meters and re-rez them. Now I get the blue dialog menu a couple times, and my avatar does not always sit as I chose, so I re-select and then she sits.
Mono, or a scripting error? I haven't changed the scripts in weeks and they worked fine before.
--
Think I found at least part of the issue. For some reason, one chair attached itself to one a couple meters away - Without even being linked. Oi.

I have noticed some very strange and hard to quantify changes in how sitting and animations to seated avies works since the update. It is erratic and changes with changes in linking of prims.

It's REALLY getting on my nerves. I have to reset every single chair just to get them to load, then reset again just because I wanted to move them =x
I really really hope this issue is fixed, lol.
Kinda glad I'm not alone on the issue though.. That way odds are it'll get fixed quicker!

What scripts are they using? For example, if this is the old MLP and it's a copiable chair and you're rezzing multiple copies, it's a known bug (fixed in MLPV2).
The solution is to restart each one. The cause of the problem is you have a number of different copies of the same chair that are using the same channel for menu. MLP uses the objects key (UUID) to generate the channel number, but doesn't detect when the object has been copied and gets a new UUID.
Other scripts may have similar bugs -- it's not uncommon. We can't assume this is a server bug without a lot more information about the nature of the scripts.

An example would be a chair I make with two sit positions and linked animations. Before lat update all worked as expected, when an animation was selected the proper avie used the proper animation. After the change one avie would sometimes get the animation that was sent to the other. I have since redesigned things and seem to have worked around the issue but there has definately been a change of some sort. A chair that was rezzed before the change works fine, the same chair rezzed after did not.

None of my tipjars work. I tested them all and they were fine like 5 hours ago, now I have to re-rez them all. Even resetting them didn't fix it.

The ones on the first floor seem to be working fine today, havent ventured upstairs yet. I don't do the shift+drag to make copies, always from Inventory. Have had too many weird issues from shift+drag. Reserting one when they are oddly 'linked' causes all chairs to restart. I've just deleted both chairs when this happens.

Specifically which version of MLPV2? The fix to avoid that bug was broken in the first release (it had been working in beta, but some of the necessary changes got lost -- I had too many versions rezzed!)
Shift-drag to copy isn't the only way to cause this problem, either with original MLP or MLPV2.0. If you take one into inventory and then rez multiple copies of it, they're borked until you reset them.
If this is your issue, it's not an SL bug, it's an MLP/MLPV2 bug.
To fix, replace the MLPV2 scripts with MLPV2.1c scripts, available on SLX for L$1. Just search for MLPV2. If the item is no-mod, ask the maker to upgrade you.
In any case, once they reset, they should have been fine -- no need to delete them. You'd just be causing the problem again rezzing new ones from the same copy in inventory.

Ahhh.. Thanks! .. So not in the mood to re-set all those poses though, lol. Gonna try copying over the positions file Pretty sure my version is straight 2.0.

Not necessary to reposition the poses. If your poses are saved to notecard, just copy in the new scripts. If not, use "dump pos" and dump the positions, replace the .POSITIONS notecard contents with the output, an then delete old scripts and drag in new ones. Folks should always save positions in notecard. Otherwise, if you get a stack-heap error, you're toast.

Peeps, the server upgrade to mono shouldn't affect any existing scripts at all *unless* you re-compile them in mono.

Deanna - I'm constantly making new stuff from older scripts so I don't really know if that re-compiles them or not, I'm really no good at scripts. Lear - Yeah, that's what I was gonna do I always save them in the Notecard since I make multiple copies and such. The only pet peeve I have with the MLP script is that you can't just drag the poses over.. Gotta put them into inventory, then drag them into the new object. That's why I keep them in a seperate layer - loads easier to just use that layer all over, lol. My tipjars are still broke though, think I've re-rezzed them three times today already just to get them workable. Oi. They better fix mono soon. Gonna re-work the chairs later, lol. Maybe tomorrow night, got an early start in the morn.

Scripts get recompiled when you open them, change them, and hit "Save". You see a message at the bottom that says "Compilation succeeds" or something like that. And in the case of Mono, you'd have to be running the Release Candidate viewer, in which case there's an extra checkbox to choose Mono or not. However, Deanna, "Shouldn't" is the operative word. So far there have been a couple bugs for non-recompiled scripts: - Listens remain open when changing states (ack!) - state_exit() handlers run very slow (taking hundreds to thousands times longer). But I don't think it's the case here. For the most part, Mono servers aren't broken. Don't blame MLP for your peeve: that's SL darlin'.

Yeah.. It's definately not MLP, at least not just MLP, since some of my other scripts seem to be having issues too. Really hoping it doesn't get any worse I kinda like those single-animation poseballs gathering dust! Lol. No time to try tonight, maybe tomorrow.. Just on to check posts and such.

I have been getting "Script is missing from database" errors specifically with the ~pos script in MLP. Even replacing the script with a script from another source does not seem to fix things, it stops the missing script error from MLP but the script does not appear to function. It also appears to be sim related as I can rez my MLP items in some places and have them work normally and not in others.

Try changing the file (say, add a space somehere) and save it. That recompiles it.
Other folks having this problem? It's an asset server problem; LL and nothing to do with MLP. But maybe the "main" copy they're all linked to is borked.

I have recreated all the scripts and resaved them and that seemed to work. The problem is that many people have this product and some see the missing script error and others do not. I suspect that there is a sync issue between one or more of the assest servers as I could get it to work fine in some sims but not in others. This sort of thing is a serious issue and nowhere do I see any indication that LL®" is even aware that there is a problem.

Every product I have, and there are a few, using MLP 1.2 is missing the ~pos script file. Even all copies of this file I have in inventory get the Script is missing from database message. The ones I have rezzed in world work fine even after a reset. Only ones newly rezzed no longer work. I have a few other items from other creators based on the MLP system and they too are missing the ~pos script from database. It seems to me the original file on the asset server has gone bye bye. Pity is I'd not changed this file in any way so have no copy with a different UUID........ I'd really appreciate it if someone had a working copy they could send it my way.... I'm not prepared to change all of my products to MLP 2.x quite yet. ~B

The ~pos script problem seems to be related to which sim you are on and sometimes when you try and rez something. There are more than one asset servers to distribute the load, it seems as is some have the script and some do not. There should be some sort of sycronization between the servers but this does not seem to be working correctly as this problem has gone on for several days at least. I have seen no indication that LL®" is aware of this problem or if they are aware of it that they care. I have posted on the most closely related issue I could find on the JIRA - http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-2940 but as yet nothing seems be getting done about this.

Yes, ~pos from Miffy's original MLP 1.2 distribution is missing from database (on my sim, anyway).
I have a copy that does work.
I'm putting a copy of MLP 1.2 scripts in a box in MLPV2 group notices. Join the group and look in group notices to get it. If you're not interested in MLPV2 beta releases or discussions, just leave the group after you collect it.

I have experienced a similar problem with notecards becoming corrupt that have not been touched at all. I had about 6 different configuration notecards entirely change their content to something like this: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAnMQAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA==</binary><key>lsl_version_3</key><uuid>512016a2-fcf1-3967-0806-2d1f4b6d19f4</uuid></map><map><key>is_running</key><boolean>1</boolean><key>lsl_bytecode_data</key><binary encoding="base64">AABAAAAAAAAAAAIAAAA//wAAP/8AABqVAAAqcwAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABkAAABwgAAAAAAA AAAAAADhQAAAAAAAAABAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADQAgAQAAAAYBAAAAAAAAAAAGAwAAAAA BAAAABgMAAAAANQAAAAYDAAAAAGkAAAAGBwAAAACDAAAABgcAAAABFQAAAAYHAAAAA acAAAAGBwAAAAI5AAAABgcAAAACywAAAAYHAAAAA10AAAAGBwAAAAPvAAAABgcAAAAEg QAAAAYHAAAABRMAAAAGBwAAAAWlAAAABgcAAAAGNwAAAAYHAAAABskAAAAGBwAAAAdb AAAABgcAAAAH7QAAAAYHAAAACH8AAAAGBwAAAAkRAAAABgcAAAAJowAAAAYHAAAACjUA AAAGBwAAAArHAAAABgcAAAALWQAAAAYHAAAAC+sAAAAGBwAAAAx9AAAABgcAAAANDwA AAAYHAAAADaEAAAAGBwA This started last Friday and again the next 2 days. I have not been able to duplicate the problem either
