- register for an account
- start a new thread under the "Ellis Island" forum
- get an avatar picture
Those two steps eliminate most spammers.
If you don't want to post to Ellis Island, just register and send me a PM, and I'll tell one of the admins that you're a real person.
If you sign up at slapt.me, you will have to validate yourself inworld after registering the account. Dang! I wish you had told me that before I signed up. I don't like spam.  BTW, I did sign up but it won't let me post. I'm assuming that it takes a while before your registration is really in the system.

LL's general distaste for the forums here is twofold... they don't want to license a newer version and keep doing so plus have to tweak it so much to make logons work with it without exposing security holes.... but they've also made comments about the negative image portrayed in some of the sub fora (like RA) and feel it's too much effort to moderate (because people that do tend to burn out fast).... Johan's suggestion deals with the last half... (as LL has had very little trouble with the content subfora) Can't really agree with this assessment. From my dealings with the Lindens and what all I have seen here in the last few years, LL HAS ONLY EVER SEEN General Topic and then RA and nothing else exists below that spot in the forum list. No matter how many suggestions to do so, from so many people, they never got off of their asses to do a stroll through the Content Creations forums. They were always too stupid to realize the gold mine CC was and if they would have actively directed people to not only CC, but RA also, then they would have found that they would have been able to retain more new people.
