From: Twisted Pharaoh If your bot doesn't move then it's very easy to use llVolumeDetect() or llSensor() or whatever else you want to activate the camping chair. You dont need to be at a definite location to activate a teleporter, right, except if the teleporter requires you to be there. I'm not sure what you mean.... To use camper bots as an example: the bots certainly can move, but they do not need to walk up to a camping chair in order to use it. Just having it within the camera range and right-clicking and choosing sit will move them instantly and directly to the camping chair. So, in that sense, camping pads are like a sit-target teleporter, if that's what you mean. But why a bot would use a sit-target teleporter I don't know. And if you wanted to prevent it, it might be possible, I guess. Makes me wonder though. You could probably verify that just by using the volume detect or sensor ping to see if that can prevent *you* from sitting on it. If it can detect that *you* are not near it, then it would work the same for a bot. I suspect, however, that simply the act of sitting on the teleporter or camping chair or anything with a sit target defined, since it does in fact bring you to that location instantly, would bring you within range of the sensor or llVolumeDetect prim thereby passing the test. .

Well, simply put: Entry------>Platform----->Chair
If you step on the platform then the chair activates if you don't it remains disabled. You can imagine a lot of different things along that line, bots are weak when it comes to moving around so if you dont want them on your chairs ask them to move around.

. IDEA: May be we can use tp's to exploit camping bots? Have a 'camping chair' that is really a tp ? Just paste a texture above them that states 'do not use bot trap' so real avatars dont suddenly find them selves someplace else. I know it wont stop them coming back but depending upon how they are written it may just confuse them enough. Another variation would be an instant unsit, would the bot just try to resit and just get stuck in a loop or would it have enough 'intelligence' to go somewhere else?

Anyway, the future of camping bots is limited since the land owners will end using bots to camp their own lands, hence not giving free money anymore.

Well, I agree that camping bots will have far less usage in the future, though I guess we disagree as to the reason. In any case, I hope one of us is right. .
