I've been here a while and after more or *less* becoming competent with the LSL and building like crazy I've wanted to start on a large project. I've run into the prim limit on a few of my aircraft and while it helps me to think imaginatively on new designs it gets in the way for large aircraft.
I'm wanting to build a large touring aircraft that behaves like a zepplin. My ship is mainly to look pretty, I dont really need it to act realistically though I do have some specifications. I can't do this with less than 31 prims, since its suppsoed to carry 26 passengers not including pilot and co-pilot. I'm looking for basic elevation, hover, yaw, and adjustable throttle.
*I'm wondering if there is anyway to do this without physics* since I'm not looking for realistic fighter plane action...I'm not into wearing the ship either. The ship will have an estimated 48-50 prims, including the passengers. Oh, and It'll fly fairly high and only land on destinations when boarding or unboarding. **And no, I'm not making a hub taxi.**

You didn't check hard enough /54/f3/59556/1.html This will probably be perfect for your zeppelin.

I've written something that should do most of what you're looking for. /8/07/59287/1.htmlFeel free to IM me if you want to discuss this. Right now my 'vehicle' either talks to marker objects or reads coordinates from a notecard, but it should be easy to change that to respond to user input. Jesrad Seraph has published some scripts that should also do be useful for you: /54/f3/59556/1.htmlThose are the only non-physics vehicle threads that I'm aware of. There could be more, of course. Edit: Bond beat me to it

What is a non-physics aircraft?
I found this posting searching on zepplin...I'd like to make one, and/or a touring airship just for looking around and maybe carrying a few people while doing it.
My problem is I haven't programmed since BASIC was invented, and then only haltingly. I know NO programming, and get confused when moving beyond making things out of box prims. I have tried editing a few freebie items in SL to see how it works, but always end up with parts falling off of what I have edited, so apparently have no idea what I am doing.
I have ideas I would like to make in this world...but am deeply lacking in the skills required to do it.
Any suggestions that can be given in a way this old tired brain might have a chance of comprehending would be vastly appreciated.

From: ImpDaddy Senior What is a non-physics aircraft? It's a vehicle which doesn't use physical vehicle functions. Instead, the script uses the non-physical movement functions, like llSetPos and llSetRot. Any suggestions that can be given in a way this old tired brain might have a chance of comprehending would be vastly appreciated. There are some dirigible vehicles available. One of the limitations for making a really big dirigible is the link distance, making the maximum length about 20 - 30m. To improve your skills, consider taking free classes at TeaZers or one of the other places offering classes. I found them very helpful. If you want to see a few dirigibles and non-rigid aircraft in world, please IM in SL to arrange a mutually convenient time.
