DVD players from Dione's.... quick Q?

Hey folks,

I have been trying to get an answer from Dione's Designs..I know both of the creators are rather busy individuals so I dont want to pester them if I can avoid it. I have yet to get an answer back on this.

I can get the DVD players + drop in TV scripts to work just fine on land that I "own".. but when attempting to get a DVD Player to play on a screen that is placed on "group owned" land which I am part of.. I cant get it to work.

Does anyone know how to correct this? Is there something that needs to be set on the land itself in order for the DVD player to project or hook into the TV's?

You will probably have to have a group officer deed it to the group land.

Ahh ok! So an officer of the group has to deed each item to the group? I actually wasnt aware you could deed items to a group... Stil learning every day. I will give that a shot tonight.

OK hate to bump this up again.. but I am still not able to get any video to play on my group owned land.. I have tried everything.

I could not get the DVD player to work.. from Dione's so I went and purchased a new HDTV which has a few trailers already in it.. attached to a remote control.

I placed the TV on the land.. then placed the remote. Per the instructions I deeded the remote to the Group. Now.. when I play the remote.. I hear the sound from the trailers play but still no video.

Is there something special required to get video to play on group land? when i play something i see it insert a URL into the Video string under the media tab of the land.. but again still no video.. only sound.

Since you can hear but not see...

that means that the TV screen has a texture on the front of it (the screen part)..you need to add the texture to your land properties media tab...

So if the front of the tv screen is the test bar pattern, then you need that texture in your land properties media tab..

Sometime the texture is in the tv (edit, contents) or when you deed the tv to the land, then it will set the texture of the land itself.

Ahh.. ok this is makin more sense.. now all I need to do is track down the texture. I tried to edit the TV And in the contents tab nothing shows up.. I tried editing the linked parts as well with still no luck. I deeded the TV to the group that owns the land and that as well did nto seem to have an affect. Any way for me to actually pull a texture out of an object? I can find the texture on the screen itself, but I cannot seem to get it from there to my Media texture on my land.

If you can modify the existing textures on the object, try replacing it (the screen texture) with the default media texture, which should be in your library/textures if nowhere else. Then, you'll know where to get the texture for the land's media tab. They have to be the same, or no video, as far as I know.
