wow ryan that looks great!!
The most efficient way i've found to do shadows is to use the burn and dodge tools in PS (next to the blur tool)- the burn darkens and the dodge lightens, you can get some really nice results very quickly after some practice with them! *trots off to dig up snapshots to photoshop* _____________________

And here are a bunch I did for my clothes and accessories range. I boosted the colours and highlight and shadow levels and added type.
EDIT: The t-shirts and shades are mine. The proper clothes are by Aimee and Neph, of course. _____________________

Thanks kei! Ryen, Try lowering the opacity of the tool and build up the shadows and highlights gradually as at 100% the results can be a bit drastic. KMxx _____________________

You could try playing round with making a mask around the figure to protect it from the brush or vice versa. It can get pretty complicated though. You can use quick mask to paint a simple mask straight on.
Click the quick mask switch (see grab) to enter the mode then you can use any painting and filling tools to make the mask, then click back to normal mode, and the mask you painted will be selected in a dotted marquee. You can save the mask (to use later) as a channel using the Save Selection item in the Select menu, or as a Path using the pop out menu in the Paths tab (usually in the same palette as layers and channels). Sorry, this gets confusing doesn't it? Photoshop is very powerful but a very complex app. I've been using it professionally ten years and I still find new features every day  _____________________
