sparked by this thread i browsed SLX a bit...

and came upon a "yacht" that is being advertized with these words:

"Stand out with this 82 ft sailing yacht at your waterfront. Highly detailed rig, lights up at night."

looking at the pictures... I don't see any "Highly detailed rig" there...

Besides, i'd rather "stand out" with two of my boats moored at winner's row... :D

I'm not going to comment on the yachts, as I've not been out to see them, but I will comment on the banning action.

As a merchant, I think you are sending the wrong message to your current and future customers by banning someone from your island for expressing an opinion about one of your products.

Her comments, good and bad, would have made me visit your shop to check out the goods for myself. However, your banning action is enough to make me seriously reconsider.

HEY BLAZE

THANKS FOR BANNING ME.

I guess you cannot take the criticism.

LOL! Oh, this is rich.

I vividly recall being banned from one of her malls for commenting negatively on the lag and uninspired design of that eyesore. Pot...Kettle?

And anyone who thinks having 1000+ prims above their neckline is something to boast about needs a serious makeover. It's well past time for LL to implement per-avatar prim limitations.

LOL calling Jimmy Thomsons build uninspired?? Now THAT is rich.

I had a very short ban list and have no recollection of ever dealing with you Cutter, unless you were griefing i had an 'anti-banning' policy that I am sure most people who were there recalled. Maybe you were banned after i sold the place to Lensey?

Do not be such a bitter pill. :D

Seriously. :)

I can get my face down to about 450 when needed. IF I HAVE TO - SHEESH! Not my fault you cannot see the need or creativity since you are so plain. ;)

Besides if you want to make the thread about me, start your own. I could use another piece of history. :)

Just a few more Millennium pics
03-14-2008 17:09
A few additional interior shots below.
The ceiling in the stateroom and bath appear as a starry night to enhance the open spaciousness. Behind the bed a swirling water display adds a refreshing movement to the room. The compass design windows in the stateroom are controllable and can be tinted for privacy. Every piece of furniture has been custom designed specifically for the Millennium. Of course all water faucets and hot tub are in working order.

The bar features an overhead tv and a swinging door which allows the bartender to close behind as they serve guests aboard the Millennium. Lights flicker on the control console with two comfortable leather captain's chairs.

The two outdoor spas can be covered with a flick of a switch - a compass design cover slides over the spa to allow other activities when larger groups of guests are enjoying the yacht.

Below, next to the spacious kitchen area, a recreation room features wood burl fireplace and bookcases, comfortable leather sofa and chairs, a large screen tv on the wall, and pool table.

Two guest bedrooms on the lower level feature custom fabrics found throughout the yacht.

And more. See it for yourself at VIRGIN ISLE MARINA. Along with over 40 other boats, jetskis, snowmobiles, windsurfers, 4-wheel drive atvs, plus a whole lot more.

hey Blaze howudoin.

hey Belle howudoin.

hey Briana howudoin.

Hey Everyone else howudoin.

You are taking this too far.

I think blaze should keep his price that high if you feel like it.
I know what your intentions are and those who gets mad about it are just jelouse cause they cant buy it, and I am not talking about Briana Dawson.
But its a faq.

If you look back to when Blaze started building yachts. He were the ONLY one building them ( as far as I know )
equals: NO COMPETITION
equals: He could controll the market, set the prices as high as he wanted etc etc.
And Blaze, I know you are proud of your creations, I would be too if I were you.
I also know that if you are very proud of something, setting high prices for them and see if they sell is like a comfirmation that "Yay, Ive done something awsome!"
Blaze nielsen is the only reason I am into yachts today, is because that Blaze were my HERO when I first started living second life. and unfortunatly I became one of his compeditors, and I can say: I TOO had that vision of yachts in second life as EXTREMLY expensive. And I was very dedicated to make my yachts as expensive as blazes, if even more expensive that felt great too me.

BUT a certain Architect Homewood came into the picture and destroyed the market. thats it.
Selling fullsized good textured yachts for under 3,000 LS. And no I am not paid to say this lol, but thats a faq, but there are catches for his yachts aswell, and Ill let you find them out yourself.

...what makes a yacht a yacht?

...simple enough: physics.

everything else is just a stage prop.

Just from reading this thread, I had a good gander (look!) at all the yacht stores mentioned on this thread.

and Chandon...like the 'Cigar 23M'!!
Some nice touches like the dinghy boat on the back with the outboard motor, the logo's and GFX, lighting etc. Very slick & professional!
Real nice job.

So..my question is, how many prims is the above boat and how much? (not buying yet as my island isn't finished!..but want to keep some 'possibles' listed)

Our new modelrange will only feature Havok 4 optimized Phy drives, and it features boats that never has been seen before in Second Life.
They are completly new!

Im opening on may 1st, and we will release 18 new models during whole may!

the 23M, is 1643 prims, PHY driveable, but price is not yet set.... But I think it will end up somewhere between 4k-6k

Im glad you like it!
Take care for now!

uhm
buddy, just to point something out to you:
- a physics enabled vehicle is limited to 31 prims - the number of possible passengers + driver
- a vehicle that has more prims but still is physics enabled has to use the "attachment trick"
- there's only one attachment spot usable for that, and thats pelvis; the other attachments are all not at a fixed distance from where the avi and the sit target connect.
- attachments are limited to 255 prims

so how are you going to build a physics enabled vehicles that has more than 255 prims in the attachment? copy/transfer attachments and a sign that says "you need 8 passengers to ride this boat"? or maybe deliver the vehicles together with a custom shape and have the driver attach several 255prim parts?

... and how the hell are you going to get a 1500++ prim thing across a sim border in one piece when these days not even 200 prim yachts make it across without crashing?

Well Buddy,

I am not new here in second life, I have been doing this over and over again for a year now, I know perfectly well how it works,

well on the already existing 1500 prim phy boat I use 8 attachment points. how about that?

none of the above statements are in any way related to each other. God, the number of stupid people i've met... and they've been in here for ages.

as yuukie said... there aren't enough attach points on the body that are at a fixed distance from where the avi attaches to a sit target to make a boat like that look good no matter what size the avi is... feel free to proove me wrong.

ok, i've seen chandons boats... and the way he's been using multiple attachments works much better than i expected. and on top of that his boats look better than most other yachts i've seen of some makers i could name... but since you don't mention names in the forum...

bye,

If I could import the complex hull models and render details of the yacht designs I have in CadCam I would blow you all away without question or hope.

The designs I have represent hundreds of man hours in design time and balanced engineering application methodology. The true hydrodynamic balance and engineering in these designs would easily command thousands of Lindens.

But hey, this is SL after all and the market can only bear what clients can afford.

Aside from price, prim alignment, texture selection and alignment, decore and hull shape
factors most SL boats are very limited after a certain length and prim count is reached.

Ill put my money where my mouth is: http://flickr.com/photos/25660729@N06/2415694986/
heres an image of a tiny yacht I built. This yacht is fully functional in biggie format as well
but I have yet to release it, it's low prim, functional and pretty :)
