Anyone else noticed that their trees look kind of different?
(I did a forum search on trees but naturally that was a rather pointless exercise as it seems about half the threads have that word in it.)
From a distance they are a blur and closer in they look completely different. I have my graphics detail settings at the max. I took these pics - Also noticed saving snapshots to disk doesn't work, I sent these as postcards to myself which is a bit of a 'faffy' work-around.

There is a tree detail slider, thats the only thing I can think of that would make them do that. But you say you have the settings at the max. Tough one..

Yes those were taken with tree slider at max.

From: Cliffy Palmerstone Yes those were taken with tree slider at max. Have you tried sliding it about and applying it and seeing what the effect is? Just incase it needs refreshing or something like that.

That is the look of a half-loaded texture. You may have to give it some time to load them.

I did fiddle with the settings but it made no difference... but then I relogged and the trees are now back to their glorious wonderfulness. Saving snapshots works again too.

We're on this problem, it happens to me on different sessions and we're still hunting for a good repro. Also see: /111/23/118626/1.html#post1133393Of course I have pictures too. http://www.flickr.com/photos/torley/184631127/

Aha cheers Torley, so I'm not the only one. I too was in the sim for a lengthy period of time beforehand (as someone mentions in the earlier thread) Might that be another clue to add to your investigations?

Sure, any personal experiences to narrow down the details help. Char Linden mentioned she was able to repro this by TPing to 3-4 regions and then TPing home. I haven't done this myself yet. We're continuing to investigate...

Yes that is my experence as well. The longer you are on, the more likely you will see this problem with textures not appearing untill moused over (at least fully). However in my case it has been getting worse over the past few updates. Where it use to be a few hours before I started noticing this problem, now it is almost immdetaly even after a cache dump.
Also the more textures in the area the more likely you will see this. So if you are in a mall with walls and walls of different uniqe textures you will see this more.

Thili, thanks for the speedtree plug. Saved me the trouble. But I could add: speedtree 4 with 50 new features. Drool. http://www.speedtree.com/

I posted this on the other thread too: I can hang out on my sim all day and not have any problems but as soon as I bring up the big map, all the trees and other textures go blurry, this never happened to me before these last few days or so.
