It's a PNG so it's a bit big. Sorry. JPG would have murdered the color contrasts and GIF was too dithered. :)

Edit: added three new ones at the bottom, including the one from Torley's pic below. :D

EDIT: REMOVED; See below.

RUR RUR RUR

You just fulfilled a wish of mine, I was thinking, "Wouldn't it be kewl if someone rounded up Map Art piccies in SL and posted them on the Gallery section of the SL Forums?" Fo real!

Makes a great poster.

Here's one more from Broken Dreams, this isn't the map shot (it did show up quite clearly) but what I saw after TPing in:

I was at the X yesterday, it's some kind of mall for furries only (which surprised me, as it didn't say "furries only" in the mall description).

Hrmmm you mean you aren't allowed to go into that mall unless you're a furry?

How was that enforced?

It's the Dwellget store in the Taco sim... a furry themed sim. As such, it is geared toward selling things to furrys. Not everything in the store is furry-only, so I'm not sure where you got that idea. Unless windchimes, potted plants, and several other items are only for furrys, which would be news to me.

Not at all. The sim has always had an open policy towards non-furry avatars, AFAIK.

It isn't.

Taco and the Dwellget are on my regular 'Show the new people around" route. Never had any problems going there as humans.

Great shots, Psyra.

How come no one makes a big deal about entire sims where furries are banned by (rather rude) decrees, but one furry-oriented mall gets slammed?

sheesh!

Hmm, yah, I'm not furry and I have some stuff up at Dwellget... And have been in the store... And haven't been lynched... yet. :P They may have tried to poison me with a burrito I got at the fast food place at the front of the store, but perhaps thats what I get for ordering the Supreme Inner Core Grande Value Meal... ;)

I think furry burritos are alright to discriminate against.

And what sims would those be and who wants to organize a furry flash mob?

I didn't slam Dwellget, I was just commenting on how the things for sale there were furry-oriented. OK, perhaps not everything there is, but what I went shopping for was.

The problem involves finding a decent caricaturish avatar without an animal head, and this pursuit isn't meant to be perceived as anti-furry.

Thanks for the great pic, Psyra! Cool to see all of those meta-signs in one place. Kind of reminded me of that Million Dollar Home Page thing. :)

Good lord, I kept looking at that Map Art compilation, it's like better than the Greatest Hits of the 80s.

What's gonna come next, Psyra?

There is a shop in Kane that has quite a few furry skins available that can be used without prim heads. Hmmm, can't remember the name of the shop at the moment... hmm Kat something. It's on the tip of my tongue. Anyway its up in the air about 40 meters or so, can't miss it.

The Gorean sim that I visited recently had a particularly rudely worded notecard.

The intent of the passage I am referring to was to say "No non-humans" (which makes sense cause its a roleplaying sim), but the way they word it is quite offensive to me.

They mention "no furries" by name, and I think they use some exclamation points as well. That and the ugly dress they force me to wear when I go there kind of tick me off.

As far as I understand it a "real" Gorean Gentleman is supposed to be polite. :)

I was almost interested in taking a peek at Gorean stuff again, but if that means no tarns, then I feel like I spent months on my tarn avvies for no reason. Ahh well.

Guess I'll just have to wait until they try to do it themselves, and then beat their prices. ^_^

Or just make a "Birds/Tarns Only" sim. Muaha

I keep an entire outfit for Gorean sims, which is kind of awkward when people launch into slave/master roleplaying with me and I've got to think of a way to say "I'm just shopping" in character. I'd hate to kill anyone's immersion. :p

The thing that puzzles me, genuinely, about "humans-only" Gorean regions is that there are some very important non-humans in Gorean literature. Such as Priest-Kings!

And I haven't seen a Priest-King av in SL, altho I once was mistaken for one while being Torlop. I, however, assured a gentle kajira (who was kneeling) that I was a peaceful visitor from a planet of Watermelons, on my way to look for food.

So it doesn't sound too canonical to me, more like a place "inspired" by Gor... but anyone who has more info, please do shed some light. Thanx. :)

Well I went there just to shop also, but the notecard isn't that clear on what's allowed and whats not except that you are offered the "free person's" clothes to wear.

So to be polite etc. I wore them. Ironically, as a "free woman," they dont want you to show your legs or breasts, but the clothes they offer are so tight as to expose both on me. My legs stuck *through* the skirt, and the low cut top left little to the imagination. :)

I would have preferred to keep on my jeans, sneakers, regular white shirt and sweater vest(which covered me up more and were much less "sexy";), but it isn't really clear whether you would be claimed or challenged etc. if you did that so I went with the Gor outfit.

PS to Psyra - They do have Tarns in Gor, but I guess they are bots and not "people" so if you showed up there as a Tarn, you might be claimed as someones permanent ride I guess. :)

I do believe I met one a few weeks ago, having been taken on a tour by someone I met in the WA. I was a cat at the time and he did explain at the sim entrance that I'd have to become human. What was particularly gentlemanly was that he turned his back so that he couldn't see me undress - or at least he gave that impression :)

Edited to include my vision of a Gorean cat.

It was kind of them to provide clothes, regardless of the fit. ;)
I've been to a few places that simply ask you wear a floating title that says "Guest of blah blah" or some such before walking around. At least one the places I've visited with floating titles had rules saying that as long as you wore the title you could be a human in any outfit.

As a rat this does me little good, however. :(
