This Zeppelin can move slowly, cross sims(with some movement oddities. The control setup can control every aspect of the ships movement with moving heading indicator, moving mini zeppelin for altitude, and many other neat stuff. The Zeppelin can land and launch planes, two at a time and can hold somewhere along the lines of 5. My planes are very large though. I could probably fit 50 cubey terra Tiger Sharks in it.

it's several parts that follow each other. The pieces overlap so it doesn't "Break" when moving, though it does have a "catapiller" like movement quality to it I will admit.

"Rather large" is hardly sufficient.. it's half a sim long!
Border crossings are indeed an interesting sight. It looks just like a Sci-Fi 'crossing the time rift' or 'passing through the event horizon' effect. Amazing work Kayin! L8r, UU |

Now THAT is impressive. I highly doubt it, but will it ever be put on sale?

I can't say I could ever sell something like this. Theres also the issue of people flying places to fly em without getting them returned. I generally only keep it around the vehicle seems and sandboxes (unless I'm feeling brave).
If this doesn't deter anyone I'd be possibly willing to create other ones on commison, but pricing would be rather high as you may imagine... Though I might try and make an arrangement in Abbotts to do Zeppelin rides from Abbotts to Morris periodicly. (Included: A good "Size Comparison" screenshot", next to a smaller, though still impressive zeppelin. As can be seen, it takes up a good portion of cordova. |

Impressive detail all around. The view of the hangar from the lounge is one which I'd love to see every day, and I particularly like the design of the control panel. I've seen it before, but it's still one of the most detailed and impressive Zeps I've seen yet. I just wish that there were a way to propel large-scale, many-prim constructions without resorting to a multitude of crude hacks. Oh please, Lindens, heed my call! Increase the distance and number restrictions on linking! That alone would greatly improve the quality of movement. Ideally, it'd be nice to be able to make such a huge build physical, but now I'm probably asking too much.
Anyways, well done Kavin. |

Always great to find another fan of Crimson Skies in any form.
I'm destressed that I'm not the only one to have made a Devestator, though. ![]() It looks wonderful. I'll have to come see it sometime soon. |

Nice Zep!
And that's an ingenious way to make it fly (being made of so many parts). Way cool! ~Olympia _____________________

That is very cool. I have an intense urge to strafe it with machine guns and rockets, but please take that as a compliment

Why does everybody attach the pics instead of posting them??? Sophos When you attach the picture is uploaded the the forum's servers. When you post inline using IMG tags, you must upload it to your own server and use that URL. Attaching is waaaay easier, and unless you have your own domain and can leave the pictures there forever, the links will eventually be broken. |

I'm impressed people peg it as the pandora(even though it isn't), just from some of the style elements. Thats really cool.
![]() Hm, an event.. I was thinking an event might be cool, but at the same time it felt kinda whoreish. Especially since I can't offer many event worthy activities besides riding. As for the attachments -- did you see the size of the picture? They're bigger then most peoples monitors. I wouldn't want to have the page display correctly only for us geeks. I even have a server for pictures. I suppose I could of shrunk em.. But... eh. ![]() As for the sim crossing it just seemed to work. From what I've noticed the server handles the crossing almost without fail, while the client has trouble updating whats across the border. So after a few breakages at hgh speed(which quickly repair themselves), it restores its self. I've taken no actual measures for sim crossing, though I'm considering using shouts to set a heading/direction for all pieces an then another to tell them to follow again. It might work neatly -- though on the other hand it might be uglier. Heh, strafe attempts. Gotta remember to add those AA guns. Always great to find another fan of Crimson Skies in any form. I'm destressed that I'm not the only one to have made a Devestator, though. ![]() It looks wonderful. I'll have to come see it sometime soon. Any form indeed. A partner and I are working slowly on creating every Crimson Skies plane. So far we have (of course) the Devastator, Fury, Firebrand, Avenger, Bell Valiant and a Bloodhawk(doesn't actually fly yet, but the model is done). I'd love to see yours(I've seen one other before as well). Feel free to send me a message in game. Doood! U Sell It 4 $50 Dolers!!!!??? ![]() Ow, please don't remind me........ Jerk. ;_; (edit: Two more pictures. One shows an approaching Bell Valiant with two Devastators hooked, and the other a cut away I got accidently thanks to someones invisible avatar. Amazing!

Kayin, I am in awe.
Not only for the planes (simply amazing!) but more for the fact that you managed to build an airship of that magnitude! A true airship! From the moment I discovered Second Life, I’ve wanted nothing more than to accomplish something like that. But after hearing about the limitations on conventional vehicles, I thought making anything larger than 32 prims move was impossible. Glad you proved me wrong. ^_^ After I get settled in and learn more about what you can do in SL (this is my third day actually playing) I defiantly plan to try and make my own flying ship! Maybe we’ll run into each other.. |
