For those lucky few who read the post about my house-slash-whale Maury there is sad sad news. Lately the Lindens filled in the space behind my land with ocean sims. Ever since then Maury has been restless. It is my fault for not paying attention to the warning signs (bad attitude, falling grades, rock music, piercings) and yesterday IT happened: Maury escaped.  My back was turned for a second and he snapped his balloon restraints and fled for the open sea. What a devastating loss! HOWEVER, if you know me you know nothing gets me down for long. It was time to take a walk and remember the good times (not the time he threw up three tonnes of krill on my mom's new couch, wow). But while enjoying nature I had a creepy feeling like something was watching me. Post-partum depression, I thought (somewhere Tom Cruise screamed) and sat on the beach to enjoy the sun. Suddenly a shadow blocked the sky! But there wasn't a cloud to be seen. No, instead there was a ginormous rogue ELEPHANT to be seen right on top of me! Ladies and gentlemen the struggle was titanic but in the end my sloth-style kung fu proved superior and the pusilanimous pachyderm was put out to pasture.  While he watched the pretty birdies circle his head I took precautions to make sure THIS little pet stayed caught. A few minutes (and one surplus safari howdah my uncle Moshe gave me as a channukah present) later I had a new home and the elephant had a new definition of ph34r.  Drop in anytime at Healy 73,174! |

We had a good conversation, well really I conversed. He's a great listener but not much of a talker. I told him he was one of the best things I'd seen so far in Second Life. He didn't reply, but he blew up a great plume of water from his blow hole so I'm pretty sure he heard me.  Sun |

Aww Maury i hardly Knew ya!
i was fortunate to have met Maury and Ms Dizzy recently and well
i'm gunna miss teh big lug!
but..he will do well i'm sure

his blow hole so I'm pretty sure he heard me. That almost made me cry. Thank you, and thanks to everyone who paged me to ask "WHERZ TEH WHALE?!?!!!?!?!!!1" I had no idea so many people liked Maury. It's almost like he needs a wake to mark his passing. Well, his passing is always marked by a wake, being a huge swimming creature, but I mean like a memorial service. Don't worry though, I have a feeling he will return someday when SL needs him most.  )) PS: The Elephant's name is Leroy. |
