To ask the completely silly question.

How do I delete specific frames of an animation?

for example I create and animation. Retime it and suddenly frame 2 is not working correctly but frame 3 on are correct. How do I delete frame 2 without starting all over and making a new animation from scratch?

Consider if you really want to delete the second frame or not. It is just a keyframe that you can delete, move, or copy. If you retimed your animation, I suspect that there is a keyframe on the second frame. If there is no keyframe on the second frame, it is just a halfway frame between keyframes and you cannot edit itself. What about copying the first frame or the third frame which is surely expected to be a keyframe to the second frame?

ok I will try this. RIght now that 2nd frame is making a bad jerk in an otherwise smooth animation which is why I thought delete. but I will give copying 3rd to 2nd a shot.

Thank you :D

The 2nd frame is the starting frame of the animation. It should be the keyframe. For that matter, you should have set "Source frames: 2 to your original frame's number" and "Destination frames: 2 to your changing frame's number".
And speaking of "a bad jerk" frame, I refer you to this thread.

Im having somewhat of the same issue with trying to delete multiple keyframes...I am a 'complete' novice with poser and i diddle daddle with some anims and really concentrate on others...the terminology of a lot of poser is still like chinese for me though :P...

my issue is with a specifice dance i finally after 2 months finished and after uploading into sl i see that the first 120 frames 'past' the default frame need to be deleted because the avie just stands there too long before the actual movements start...

i read that manual repeatedly and tried the following as suggested from the manual:
Removing Multiple Keyframes
To remove an entire range of keyframes, click and drag over the keyframes you wish to
delete in the Timeline and press [DEL]. To remove multiple specific keyframes, press and
hold [SHIFT] while selecting individual keyframes, then press [DEL].<---Didnt work either...What am I doing wrong here? Maybe Im not understanding what specific keyframes are? Im simply making a box from the clk/drag motion from frame 2 to 119 and pressing DEL...i also attempted this while holding the shift down and got nothing as well; although when i press play the anim does only start from frame 120 so how do i save 'those' frames only? <--told ya novice :P

My second issue is with my anims jumping up in the air....
A simple anim I did like 'laughing' with no more than 250 frames or so worked fine in poser and might I add was 'grounded' and as soon as i uploaded in sl, the avie 'floats' to the air, does the anim, and then 'floats' down to default....sighs poser is driving me bonkers....

When responding might I ask that you not take for granted I know WTH I'm doing please and speak in simple poser for idiots lamen :) I would appreciate that and/or a 'detailed' step by step for both issues. Thank You

You don't just want to get rid of the keyframes if you are trying to shorten the animation - you actually want to literally get rid of the frames. The way to do this is to select the frames you want to get rid of and clear out the keyframes. Then select all the remaining frames after the section that you want to clear out. Once you have them selected, drag the group of frames over so that the first frame is on the first frame in the section you are removing (so you are dragging the remaining frames on top of the frames you deleted. Once you do this, the animation will be moved over. However, you will then need to shorten the animation by changing the number of frames at the bottom. If your original animation was 100 frames and you removed frames 20-30, then you need to readjust the length of the animation from 100 frames to 90. This is probably confusing at first, but give it some thought, and give it a try, and you should be able to make it work ultimately.

Mahalo and greetings to you Cristiano :)

Your help is very much appreciated-any chance on a simplified answer for the 'floating' anims? If not this should at least work for some things and i am greatful :D and might i add "ohhhhhhhhh that makes sense" lol

Just a note: after getting some inworld help from Craig- I found out why my anims were floating...*grumbles* its all about the hips :/ well now Ive learned my lesson for today and thanks again Cristiano
