Any chance of this supporting more than just two avatars? I'm sure I'm not the only person in SL who sometimes likes to cuddle up to more than one other person, and three-person poses are excetionly rare. (I know of two, and I've made afew by combining things but they are often a little kludgy)

nep, just for you, i'm going to make a special orgy edition. ;)

AvMotion: Nep 3.0 (when two just isn't enough)

EDIT: In all seriousness though, as soon as the "multiple bvh" feature is done, you'll be able to load as many mannequins as you want at once.

Vince, a feature suggestion. I want a play range. Or just loop except the frist frame. When I make sure looping animation, I don't want to play the first frame. ;)

And maybe Mac OS minor troouble. The error message below appears whenever I quit it.

Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (0x0001)
Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE (0x0002) at 0x00000000

I rarely come into the animation forums, but oh man, am I glad I did now. I'm currently on the crappy computers in my campus but that didn't stop me from downloading and trying out your animator.

Amazing!

I can't wait to go home and try uploading some simple animations! From what I see here, your program is a godsend! I look foreward to the updates!

AVMotion Frame 0

For robot AVs you need to elevate the starting point of the avatar - e.g. 10 foot up - so the ability to scale at least vertically the 'starting frame' would be good.

Hi, great program, i have never really tried making animations/poses before but with this I made my first one - didnt look too bad either :)

My only question is, are there any ways to make certain parts of the body limp, so that they move freely in SL, rather than staying stiff. I wanted to make an arm animation, that only affects the left arm. However when i save it, the whole body stays stiff. Is this something complicated to do? Is it possible to do this with the program?

Thanks a big bunch :)

Multiple BVH Files at once

Any chance of getting this pushed to up near the top more? It would be worth a few lindens to have this sooner then later.

Thank you,

Yeah, SL Animation starts from the second frame. The first frame is the reference of each parts between bvh and in-world format. And if you didn't move the parts, those priority would keep lowest.
So don't touch the first frame and move only its left arm latter second frame. If you set the priority 4 on the uploading window, that priority will only affect the left arm. Other parts will be overrided by the SL default animation. They won't be stiff but move by itself. :D

hi, sorry for not posting any updates recently. i had a lot of work to get done for grad school during the last few days. i'm now aiming to get IK done by next weekend (its a bit heavy on the math and my brain is fried from school :)).

seagel, i wasnt able to reproduce that bug on the mac, but since it only happens when you close the program, i'll put it down as a low priority bug for now.

i don't mind moving multiple BVH loading ahead of multiple undos on the todo list as long as I don't hear many complaints. i will say though, it's a real pain in the butt right now (at least for me) when i make a mistake and can't take it back...

Give priority to your RL and take it easy here. ;)

Aha, advanced information. If I was about to close it without saving the animation, the error message appeared and closed anyway. And if I was about to close it after saving the animation, using CMD + Q short cut and selecting quit under the pull down menu didn't work at all, but I could close it by the close button on the left upper side on the window. That seems to be no harm. So no biggie. ;)
Insted, I don't want you to miss my Play Range request. I can't see that in your todo list. :p I'm not sure but will you make it add auto blank first frame? If so, we won't be able to tweak the first frame any more?

You rock!

When grad school allows, please let us know how its going. There has been a lot of talk about this around SL. I ran into a guy who was raving about it in a sandbox last night! Thank for the great work and when RL allows we all eagerly await your next release.

Thank you,

CMD + Q short cut
oops.. sorry, you didn't implement this feature from the first time. :D Sorry, forget this part. :p
But basically Mac user uses CMD key not Ctrl key. It's not also biggie though. :)

Ahhhha, that's it! :D When I press CMD + q to quit program even though you didn't implement it, the error message appears and anyway could quit. :D

wow, that is a very nice gesture doc! :) totally not necessary, but i still thank you for your generous offer of support. plus, since this isnt an open-source project, you probably will want to wait until you see the final product before you decide if its worth spending any money on. ;) the basic version will probably be in that price range anyway.

for now, enjoy the pre-release versions free-of-charge!

EDIT: btw, if anyway does feel like donating, you should probably send rod martin some money his way since his project is completey free, and open-source. he's not a capitalistic pig like me and deserves some donations. :)

Sorry I haven't posted in a while Vince...

The mirroring works great!

Very handy!

However, could you move "Weld vertices" up on your list of priorities? Its kinda hard right now to really get a feel for how much poses are distorting the avatar with them broken up like they are.

New animator has a question
02-01-2006 08:04
Hello everyone,

I've started using the animator from this thread. Animation is always something I've wanted to get into, so I'm giving it a go here.

I've done a few nice poses already, and I've come across a issue with this one:

I would like my avatar to raise her cup of tea to her lips, stay there a second or two, then return her arm down. I'm animating her right arm to make the gesture.

Frame 1 is the reference frame.
Frame 2 is the cup up to her lips.

I can't seem to grasp how to make the avatar keep it there for about 2 seconds, then reach a down arm position smoothly.

How many frames total would be needed if the entire animation would last about 6 seconds (arm up, drink a bit, arm down)?

A big heartfelt Thank You to Vince for giving me the opportunity to take what has always been an interest and turning it into a passion :)

Theoretically, you need 60 frames to take 2 secs because this AVMotion's default suppose to be 30fps. So the total is 180 frames to take 6 secs? But if you've already set Frame 2 the cup up to her lips, just 2 frames are even alright. ;)
All you have to do is set the both Ease in value and Ease out value "2" secs where is your uploading window in world.
Don't forget to hit return or enter key after inputting the values.

But I guess 6 secs are too long for one sipping though. :p
Make sure your animation well by playing it on the uploading window before you really upload it.

Oh, but don't you mind if she spills her tea before and after drinking? :D
