I went to Yadni's and found a bunch of free dance animations but, they are actually just dance moves not complete dances. I can do better dancing by double clicking a bunch of these dance moves (which opens them as smallish windows with "Play in World" as an option) and then clicking the "Play in World" buttons but this is kinda clumsy and fills my screen with all those small windows. Is there a way to string them all together so they will automatically play one after another? Thanks...

Yes, there are several ways, but the least complicated is to get a dance bracelet and edit it to add all your dance animations (rez the bracelet on the floor, then drag the dance animations from inventory into the contents tab of the bracelet) and wear it. You should be able to type /99start to get yourself dancing. Sorry, I can't remember right now where I bought my dance bracelet, but there may be freebies out there too. Good luck

From: Seagel Neville What about making gestures? The link on the link you provided was just what I needed to add animations to my gestures pull down (well actually it pull up...) menu. I wanted to do that but to use it to try to put together a complex dance would much better than what I am doing but not quite as good as what I wanted. I will search for Dance Bracelets once I get home from work Thanks Tess

Dance Bracelet

I believe I may have a dance bracelet you are welcome to have if it's transferable. Look me up in world if you don't yet have one and I'll see what I can do for you.

And now I gotta stop dancing...

From: Chloe Cain I believe I may have a dance bracelet you are welcome to have if it's transferable. Look me up in world if you don't yet have one and I'll see what I can do for you. I'll do that. Thanks for the offer. So far I've managed to put a bunch of non-dance animations I liked into the gestures roll-down menu. They are quick and easy to get to and generally work well. The one problem I have is turning some of these gestures/animations off. An example is a cross-legged sitting animation. I choose it from the roll-down menu and sit down fine but, when I walk somewhere as soon as I stop walking I immediately drop back down into the cross-legged sitting. If I open up the gestures window I can see that it is checked as on. I can turn it off from there and be returned to normal but that is a pain. Is there a way to create a "gesture" that I can select from the roll-down menu that will turn off any active gestures and return me to normal?? Thanks Tess

You can make an another gesture to stop the animation. Making another gesture file and loading the same animation, and select STOP of the radio button. You can also set your gestures on any function keys or say commands as triggers.

From: Seagel Neville You can make an another gesture to stop the animation. Making another gesture file and loading the same animation, and select STOP of the radio button. You can also set your gestures on any function keys or say commands as triggers. OK. I can see how that would work. The problem I see though is that if I did it that way I would have to make a second gesture for every gesture I use (that is from an animation) so that I would have one to start and one to stop each gesture (named YogaSitStart and YogaSitStop for example). That would work but would be kind of cluttered. Is there a way to make just one more gesture (or perhaps some type of global command), that would make whatever gesture that was active, inactive? Thanks Tess

Unfortunately that is the gesture. I don't think you can control it so that it turns to be active and inactive by another geture or even any script.

Stop animations object
06-29-2006 10:39
I actually also have a stop animations prim that you simply drop on the ground and it causes all animations to stop. I can give you a copy or you can get it free on www.slexchange.com in the marketplace. When you add an animation to a gesture you'll notice there's an option to start or stop the animation. You'll need to put the animation into the gesture twice: once using start at the beginning and once using stop at the end. This way your looped animations that don't stop on their own will stop when your gesture is complete. I make and sell gestures so if you have any questions regarding such feel free to ask and I'll be glad to help as time allows.

Both the Stop all anims prim and the Dance Bracelet work great! Now that I actually have a working bracelet I can see how the whole process works and can add, mix and match dances and get just what I want. You are a STAR! Next step a dance GUI! Tess
