Sphere AO question, legs pop down

So I made an abstract spherical avatar, and I got Qavimator and made a curled-up animation to hide my av in the middle of it. So far so good.

Then I thought, I want my sphere to be more expressive. So I got a ZHAO and made a bunch more anims: rolling slowly for walk, rolling faster and bouncing for run, a little bounce for landing, diminishing bounces for hard landing, etc. etc. So far so good.

BUT, when I load them all up, every time I transition from stand to walk, my legs pop down for a split second. Every single time, even in an empty sim.

Why, and how can I make it stop? There has to be a way, otherwise tinies wouldn't work worth a darn, but I've tried all that I can think of -- raising all anim priorities to 4, lowering entry to 0 -- and I still look like a sphere with legs. :-/

Thanks,

I don't have an answer to the question, just wanted to point out this is the most awesome thing I've heard all day.

You're right Johan, this is fantastic. Foo, I'm wondering if this might be something to do with the way Qavimator transitions from the reference pose to the curled up pose. I'd love to produce one in Poser and see if that works any differently. Is there any chance we could meet up in SL? I'd love to see what's happening. How about you too Johan?

Make sure you put the ball animation for turning left and turning right, otherwise it doesn't know what to do and defaults well uhh to the default animations :D

Yeah, I got that: I've replaced every slot in the ZHAO, which I think is all the anims there are?

Thanks for the compliments...it's actually more fun than it sounds, I left out about the flexi tentacles. :-) Anyway, I'll see if I can look you guys up in world...

Meanwhile, a philosophical question: what does a typing sphere look like?

Tell you what, send me a friends request so we can see each other's online status, and we can meetup when we're all inworld sometime.

Check that your In% = 0, Out% =0, Eas in = 0, Ease Out = 0, and priority 4

As for typing, what about bouncing up and down quickly, like in those old tv shows that taught people how to read by bouncing on the letters?

I'm having serious glitches between animation changes too. Wondered if it was possibly our connection, as lag can be a factor, and other people don't see me glitch so much as I do. Still a royal pain in the ass though.

No ease in/out? What's the general opinion on this? When I posted before to whine about the glitches, someone suggested more ease in/out.

I think that if you set all the ease in/out, etc, to 0, then your animations will immediately snap to the next animation.

I believe this is what you want, assuming that you will draw the transitions frames yourself.

So, animation 1: you're curled up in a ball, rolling along (your walk animation) and you decided to jump

animation 2: the first frame or so of animation 2 would be the walking (rolling animation) and then you yourself draw the rise and fall of the sphere, and the bounce, and so on.

I could be wrong, but if you set the ease in/ease out to anything other than 0, then the computer (sl) will want to transition back to the default standing position before going to the next animation. So it would look like this:
Animation 1: rolling along in a ball, and you decided to jump (bounce)
*** so we ease out of the rolling ball, heading towards the default standing position
Animation 2: oh! we need to return to a ball and start to rise off the ground..

That transition might be where your legs pop out.

Just a guess.. Give it a shot, its only 10L to upload.
