Wow! Less time in Photoshop! Below you will find unedited photos taken using the Presets in the WindLight Settings of the new FirstLook Viewer. If you are into SL Photography, this will make your day and night. Use the presets just as you would camera filters or Photoshop filters. They do however add multiple layers that PS and camera filters cannot add such as the clouds and sky hues. Those would normally have to be done manually or by painting and using various brushes. The pictures speak for themselves. Purple (My Favorite) Pirate Night Funky Funky

Windlight problems
05-29-2007 15:18
To be fair to this new feature I haven't had time yet to play around with all the settings, but at first glance it seems a bit of a let down. Ok, the cloud textures are more realistic, but from what I've seen the whole image is on a single flat plane at about 650 m - so have we lost those boiling low altitude clouds that could add so much atmosphere to a location? This is sad if we have, because I liked to use that feature in SL movie making. Another thing I noticed is that default settings give a very harsh light, and at (forced) night the subtle lighting effects from lamps and fires seem to be subdued - along with some texture colours looking a bit washed out. I have an nvidea GeForce 8800 graphics card so don't think my PC is at fault. Hopefully the new look will be improved, or I'll find that I can tweak the settings to suit me, though I run an art gallery in SL : and if the default viewer settings don't deliver the goods for most people then I'm probably wasting my time. One last problem .. with the old viewer I could get rid of that annoying hard line between the ground and horizon by going Client > Rendering > Types > Ground .. which smoothed the boundary out nicely in sunset & sunrise snapshots. Unfortunately this doesn't seem possible with the Windlight viewer.

Hi, This is not how WindLight looks, you too have the cloud bug that's not letting you see clouds? If your using Nvidia suggest revert back to 93.71 WHQL driver. Eg:

Brilliant MadamG I already anticipate that you will release an outdoor N30 camera, if the sky settings can be scripted.
