They could have said that, even governments do things that way. They should have annouced all gambling was being banned when they banned the adverts. It would have still caused a stink but at least then they wouldn't have looked like dodgy private estate owner who rips people off by selling them land and then reclaiming it. It's extremely shoddy how they've done this.

The very least they could have done was to tell big casino sims they were going to close them down, the way they've implemented this is unprofessional to say the least, yet another example of how they haven't got a clue about customer service and they've left an impression that they will take the money and run. To anyone who intends to invest big here, this isn't very encouraging.

it was allways illegal and you choose to break the law and invested money in sims to break the law. (HAHAHAHAHHAAHAH)

just cuz now started to enforce the law you complaine? (HAHAHAHHA)

just cuz you thot you could break the law and LL was so small no one noticed doesnt make it ok.

im very glad they got rid of these scammers

I still find it amazing that people weren't able to put two and two together on their own with that one.

And it's not like the casinos need months to lay off their staff (they mostly have no staff) and auction off the equipment (put it in your inventory) and sell or demolish the building (put it in your inventory) and put the land up for sale if need be (who's laughing at the landbot in the corner NOW?!?).

A smart business owner would have been rethinking their setup once the advertising was banned and would have either already changed their game or shifted their focus away from gambling so the loss of business wouldn't have been as deep a cut to their wallets.

A dumb business owner would be blaming LL, saying "we had no warning!" and holding a protest sign while afk.

Wow. Check this out! We are now in the same category as Georgia (the Asian country, not the US State) and Kazakhstan with respect to internet regulation:

The timing of this article compared with SL's new gambling ban based on US law is just uncanny!

In RL new laws are generally not retrospective. So I'd guess anyone who created a sploder before the ban would not have done anything wrong as long as they don't sell or use it now.
