If you are a premium user, go ahead and use the Live Chat feature tomorrow. Maybe, if you explain it, they will fix the issue with the billing or move the poor child to her proper grid.

Wow, with it being so hard for a teen to get on the correct grid, I'm surprised that there aren't more of them on the main grid.

I am not yet on a Premium account. I wanted to explore the game first before committing to a recurring fee, and since they've apparently decided to abandon the First Land program, it appears to be better for me to stay on a BASIC account and buy linden dollars thru the website, if I wish to acquire property down the road. So for now I purchase linden dollars thru the official website and use the BASIC account.

I am also a little less than impressed overall with support and customer service, so that's something I would like to research more before committing to a paid subscription.

Maybe someone can answer the following before we try today to get her adult account moved over to the appropriate age grid:

1) Do they even still have Linden Liasons on Help Island, and is she able to return to Help Island if she already left the orientation area?

2) If she decides to report herself, or if I report her so that I can be involved in the process of getting her moved, do I simply file an Abuse Report? If we are both logged into our accounts and I report her, will there actually be some interaction in real time with a real person, or will it simply get filed into some bin where someone four days later decides it is easier/faster to ban/suspend the account than to move it according to their own guidelines (which I am not very confident they will actually follow, since support doesn't even seem to know it is impossible for me to purchase an ALT account for her TEEN grid character.)

Right now, my confidence level in LL is rather low, and I have severe concerns this is going to backfire on us if we rely on the official Knowledge Base information.

Well, I followed the instructions and went to Help Island, there are no Linden Liasons there at all.

So I guess they no longer do that, which reinforces again my feeling that if we file an ingame report under the AGE listing, that their response will be to ban/suspend rather than move the account to the appropriate age section, as their Knowledge Base article claims is their policy.

Because it is easier and uses less of their resources.

Update: I tried IM'ing Spike Linden but his account is set up to refuse IMs. Oh well =( I'll include the IM here on the off-chance maybe he sometimes does a SEARCH on his own name, and might spot it that way:

If you DO have time, I am hoping you can look at my thread here and let me know if there is anything I can do, to get my 13 year old daughter (currently on an adult basic account), over to the correct TEEN grid:

My official support ticket is 4051-4211269 however they gave me a few incorrect replies (that my paypal must be unverified or that I needed to pay a $9.95 fee for an ALT account, which the website does not allow me to do). Then they simply closed the ticket as RESOLVED. Then after I reopened the ticket a couple of times, they apparently simply stopped following it.

My daughter would like very much to be in the TEEN grid, but at this point it seems impossible to accomplish. The SL Teen account we keep trying to get through the registration process is Jena Rang. I would be MORE than happy to use my credit card but that does not appear to be an option for TEENs. My PayPal account IS verified both by bank and credit card, and is being used without problem on my own SL account (Brash Zenovka.) They have already resent me an email to try again but it says the account is created but there is a problem with PayPal, and we never get the final email to activate.

Knowledge Base claims that teens who are incorrectly in the adult grid, can be transferred to the TEEN grid and this is what we would like to happen with the adult account she is currently using. I would also list here her unofficial ADULT account she is using but fear that Support would simply suspend the account without getting her moved to the correct grid, as my trust in the customer service dept to follow their own standards is a little low right now (and they apparently don't even know that the $9.95 charge for ALTs is not currently functional either). However if you can promise it would get transfered correctly then I would be happy to supply that account name as well. She understands she will lose everything in her inventory, which is fine.

Thank you if you can help, and I will understand if you are simply too busy to intercede in every case and cannot help.

I tried a month ago to get my 14 year old daughter a teen account...similar experience...tried many ways...but finally gave up. Bought her Sims2 which she likes a lot...but she still hopes to get into SL someday...

The experience was rather disappointing actually.
