Hi,

I've searched the forum or info on what deed land to group actually is. I don't understand the group contributions isssue and have read that there are pitfalls such as loosing your land if group members leave.

can some one answer the following?

when deeding land to group.

will group members have to pay LL for the land as well ie ,make a contribution?
will I be charged any extra for the land?
do the members have to have payment on file?

and any other pointers on what deeding is all about would be greatly appreciated

thanks in advance

A lot of this was answered on your other thread: /327/a5/196281/1.html

As to your specific questions:

1) No, but if they have tier they want to donate, it could reduce your costs.
2) No
3) No

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

You would have two days to sell the land to yourself or get another group member.

Uncheck that for everyone but yourself. Most commonly the payments are for listing your land in the search, the 30 L a week. Renters and most group members don't like this. The receive group payments is a big one, if you were to sell the group land the money would be divided among everyone who has this power.
Also remember when you sell group land, you won't get your share of the money until midnight SL time.

For the group to own land, it must have enough donated tier to cover the amount of land it owns. So when you deed the land, donate the amount of tier to cover it. It won't be a change for you.

There is a *lot* more information in your other thread...but one I want to hit on before you make this group and deed your land. Make an ALT and get them in the group. You have to have 2 people in the group to keep it open and if it gets back down to just you, you could lose the land within the group. ITs safest to have your group set up with you and, well, you (as in your alt) to make sure the group never disappears without you fully knowing about it. Renters come and go, trust me, you never know when they might poof out of group and with it, your land.

What I have always done is to sell the land to myself. Just be really careful and make sure you use the "sell to person" option when you do this. Otherwise you can lose the land to a landbot.
Also, make sure you remove the tier from the group, even with the land gone, the tier will stay and count against you.

First time I did this process I was so worried something was going to go wrong and I was going to press the wrong option or something.... but second time it was a breeze! Try it first with a small plot of land to get used to it first before doing it to all your land!

Main thing is to make sure your group always has two members.... best way is to do it with your main avatar and an alt you own then nothing can go wrong (as much as nothing ca go wrong in SL!)

FYI - You only do the "Owner makes contribution" for Mainland parcels, NOT for private island parcels.
