As Ive just visited your 5,000 sq m land and found it slammed full of camping chairs, perhaps traffic is now measured by actual activity instead of zombies - something that the vast majority of us have been asking for for a long, long time.

Lewis how isnt the problem. First off I'll assume you've never heard of marketing. Second, thats just one plot, I have 16ksqm in that sim. Third, you know your wrong, read up before you post on something you have no clue about. /139/41/153396/1.html /139/2e/153353/1.html |

Of course I've heard of marketing... I just prefer actual customers who are coming to what I provide because of what it is, rather than because they are being paid to sit somewhere to artificially inflate something's traffic.
There's many techniques to getting your product known, and your traffic up. I just prefer those that dont' involve zombies. Lewis _____________________

Since search > places is still down, traffic is useless. Let's hope when they fix one, the other will also appear.

Traffic was useless anyway... we all know that the traffic number was in no way an indication of the quality of what the destination provided - most of the high ranking were dreadfully skewed because of the use of camping chairs to obliterate even the slightest correlation.
Most players realise this after a week or two... and a large number - myself included - actively boycott anywhere else that uses this lame method of attracting visitors, as soon as we land and realise that the place is full of them. One of my parcels has almost 1000 traffic - every bit of it earnt from genuine visitors who came because of what it offered, rather than because I was paying them to sit there whilst they slept. Camping != Camping

Ok,
some narrow views popping up here? Maybe... I whole heartedly agree that a large room or field full of zombies is an odd strategy, and.... very confusing to newbies. But... Camping isn't equal in all instances. For example I have campers, quite alot - but the staff boots them if they are sleeping or not responsive to chat, and tey accept no argument. Also we use random away checking on our own camping scripts. The camping is alsorts of different activities and environments also - a little imagination helps. I dont see how offering L$ in that way is offensive to anybody, and is any less of a legitimate offer than ppl hanging around money trees or waiting for other freebie devices like lucky chairs. The campers are always involved in the chat in my club and most are now infact members. It has worked, worked well and resulted in a very mixed language membership, the community likes it and says so often. Just my 2L$ cents worth. |

I saw a commercial for an above-ground pool. It was thirty seconds long. You know why? Because that's the maximum amount of time you can depict yourself having fun in an above-ground pool - M.H. You know, I'm sick of following my dreams, man. I'm just going to ask where they're going and hook up with 'em later. - M.H. |
