I'm a model and I had to refuse most of the jobs and interviews I 've been offered because of times zones: they always at 2- 3 am in the night... and I must go to work the morning after :(.
When modelling agencies will understand that we're not all Australians, Canadians or Americans?
Does it exist an agency that is Europe based?
thank you and sorry for the ranting :)

Wouldn't these modelling agencies be willing to fly you to the location of the photo shoot anyway, if you were that hot a model?

Oh JeanGenie I know your pain! Most of the clubs/societies I'm a member of have their events late in the SL evening...around 3am for me! It's so depressing.

The only thing I can suggest is to join one of the European or Country specific groups and send out an IM on there asking about a European modelling agency... that might uncover something.

Good luck! :)

Are they all not upside down anyway, and prone to outbursts of "crikey" when excited?

Europeans make up the largest user base now so there will definitely be a market for events that are set up around GMT.

Hi,

Why not open a modelling agency of your own? It could operate during NORMAL hours for european guys and girls (around GMT).

I would be happy to help you open one since I would like a modelling career too...

As for the clubs, there have to be a number of clubs that also host events around GMT. I only know one but there must be others too!

Lets look for them...

Greetz,

Camden

Yes, I think us Europeans will simply have to create our own events/agencies/courses etcetera. And those will be held at convenient times, like 8 PM GMT. Yes, that will be 11 AM in California, when all the current "supermodels" are shopping, taking their children to kindergarten, working or simply sleeping in.

Bummer for them ;)

YOU should start one JG. If European models were available through an agency I would use them.

Not just you. All the formatting seems to be broken for me as well.

There is a solution for the Europeans.
You can open your own modelling agency and time your events for the Europeans.
Others can open their own night clubs etc etc.. and time thier events for the Europeans:)
Whole new growth industries waiting to happen!:)

I know what you mean, most of my palls are from the other side of the Big Puddle, so one of my buddies who has a gallery always does openings 12:00noon SLT on Saturdays. Other friends doe all day events, and have a partner in Europe.

We as a group, that have activities around our 4 companies in SL do almost everything to GMT, it makes sense as we are almost all European Based.

On occasions when we attend an event that isn't our time, then one makes a consession to cover the event.

IIRC, the biggest problem was with Europeans having difficulty with payment systems. I believe that has been remedied in large part in the last couple of months. More Europeans need to get off the No Payment Info on File kick and start more businesses. If anything, that is the largest stumbling block to having more European-oriented businesses - so they can own land or buy Lindens to rent the land on which they do business.

Give me a shout when LL starts accepting debit cards will you? That's the standard in Europe, not these old-fashioned and unreliable and overcharged credit cards.

IIRC, paypal is an option too. And there are Europeans that own businesses and land in this game. It's not impossible.

Hmm, I have a visa debit, which is accepted as a regular Visa card where debit cards aren't accepted.

What kind of debit card are you talking about? Maestro? My bank used to give me Switch, but when Switch became Maestro, my bank switched to Visa Debit because, quote "no-one takes Maestro cards". Sounds like you might need to have a word with your bank.

Not a modelling agency, but Castle of Spirits is a medieval themed club with lots of European staff so we usually have stuff going on in GMT evenings, and we're always hiring dancers.

I have a suggestion. If there is a club or other business (ie Tringo) that you like, why don't you offer to work for them as a host and host events during the time that is more convient to you?
