i am using a valid credit card that i have been using with this avi since his "birth".

It must be a system problem as the LindeX volume has slowed considerably.

Based on my experience i think u should check ur "Lindex billing and trading limits" at the following webpage:

A week ago at 8am there were 24,712,339 L$ traded. Today at 8 am there were 23,776,758 L$ traded, about what you would expect. A week ago at 5pm there were 60,747,467 L$ traded. Today at 5pm there were 46,963,910 L$ traded, notice the decrease. Something is slowing the purchases of L$.

I tried to put through a sell order earlier and it timed out a couple of times before it went through. Something might be lagging the Lindex tonight.

I can't sell Lindens. My account is nearly a year old but I've been put on the new joiner trade limit. It seems many others have experienced this too.

They scream way to loud when you try slipping them into the Lindex Machines

can't buy lindens - billing info is missing!
04-25-2007 00:32
My billing information seems to have disappeared from the system all the sudden. I noticed this when I went to buy $L and said it couldn't bill the account. I went to the web site, and it said that I have no credit card on file!

Did this happen to a lot of people? I know at least one other person it happened to, along with 2 more people who said that something (they didn't know what) was broken and that they could not buy lindens, either.

There's something on the Official Blog about "Visa gift cards" or something, but that doesn't seem relevent. This is just a regular card from Bank Of America that I have been using all along. (And it works elsewhere, just not on Second Life. So the problem is not with the bank or my account.)

I find it extraordinarily odd that there is something funny going on with the billing database and Linden Lab is totally silent on the matter. I wonder if there has been a security problem that compromised the accounts or something.

The only way to get a Linden to talk these days is to buy one, and take him home and torture him until he admits that they would like to fix things but are very busy getting the final details ready for their sale to Time/Warner.

You would think fixing all of these Account issues would be a top priority. Especially Since Supply Lindens sells so many Lindens per month that they would want everyone's account to be able to buy Lindens.

Well my account seems to be ok
04-25-2007 01:39
Ok Oh, I just tried mine which is Paypal and that seems to be ok. I think it must be credit card accounts. Hmmmm sounds a bit dodgy to me

Getting worried now
04-25-2007 01:56
Can someone help me please, I have tried ringing the number on the screen. I get this American lady telling me that I have dialled incorrectly and to please check the number. Can anyone in the UK tell me exactly what number I should be ringing cause if there is a security problem with Mastercard then I want to cancel mine and use something else. I don't mean to be a panic merchant but well, you never know do you.

If you change the 'Visa' to 'Vista' and combine that with the 'Time Warner'... now was the 'Visa' a typo and LL have revealed their intentions?

Buying Lindens Bummer
04-25-2007 20:11
I had the same problem yesterday. So did a friend. She suggested updating the payment type to the same thing I was using, which worked for her. I tried that, still getting the error message:

We are unable to complete your request.
• An error was encountered.
• The system encountered an error while processing your order, please try again.

I tried it with a different payment method from the website - same thing. I was able to purchase a very small amount of Lindens in world one time last night, but then I wasn't able to purchase any Lindens in world or on the web site after that. I contacted in world help, They suggested I send an e-mail to SL billing, which I did.

No word from LL, and I just tried again from the web site, no go :(

I haven't been in world yet since the ugrade. I am afraid after reading the blog postings to go in and survey the possible damage.

At least I know others are having the same problem, only one person I know said they had this situation happen to them. Everyone else says it has not been an issue.

This was BEFORE the upgrade. Aside from waiting for LL to deal with the aftermath from the upgrade - anyone have any other suggestions?

PS. Account shows payment on file.
