Why do I have God Mode...?

These Client + Server menu options have been viewable for awhile (around since the time we opened up our Viewer's source code, I think), but that's what they are — you can look, but not touch. They aren't enabled for Residents.

On the off-chance you do happen to notice that you can use these options, please stop using it right away and discreetly let us know so we can fix it ASAP. We offer L$ bounties for these.

Um...I just logged in after the SL upgrade and had GOD MODE when I went to the Server tab. It had an option called "God Tools..." that I could open.
...How did that happen? I'm scared to touch ANYTHING.

I IMed 3 online Lindens and got ZERO answer. I haven't figured out how to get money anyway and I don't want to...not interested in getting banned.

I am exploring the options just so I can get screencaps but not actually clicking on them and changing anything.....that would be not smart.

Just press the do not press button, you know you want to. Do it. Do it. Haha, man how do you end up with those functions. Are those estate functions or LL functions?

Well, heh . . . if more than you have it, and the Lindens have managed to hide themselves this well from people trying to tell them about it, and a less ethical person than you starts to use it . . . well, the Lindens will see the downside to getting rid of Live Help and hiding themselves on line, I think.

LL functions. I can kick anyone...freeze anyone...i visited three different places and can mess with the land. I'm pretty worried about it. I think I might relog and see if it goes away.

I'm pretty sure that you can't do any of it. In the debug menu there is an option that says : View Something Options (I can't remember the name because I am not in world). Un-check that and you will be fine.

Edit : It is View Admin Options

God mode has been accessible for a while now. Unfortunately I honestly dont remember the sequence of keys to turn it off again for you. I'm relatively certain its been discussed in this forum before so perhaps try a search for "god mode".

Oh and as a side note, it doesnt actually let you do many of the options. They are still Linden only (hmmm not sure I'd want to test that too far tho - lol)

Anybody can see these options - I could post the same screenshots you have - although I can't speak to the possibility that they might actually be working for you right now after today's update. One can only hope not.

I wouldn't wory unless you've actually done something and it worked.

well i managed to do some stuff to my friends objects and froze him...he was helping me test it. but anyway...after that i got scared and relogged and now its gone lol

Ctrl+Alt+V will tell the client to pretend that you're a Maintainence-level Linden and you will get to see buttons of this type, but they won't generally work.

If they did work, that's.. um.. very scary indeed.

Oh, and BTW, AFAIK Lindens can't generate money that goes into their accounts. Instead they can go into a test mode where they can spend any amount of L$ no matter how much is in their account and without their account going down - but every usage of it is logged. For their own personal expenditures they have to use the regular L$ system like everyone else. Yes, that means that Lindens can buy L$ on Lindex (Apparantly they get a stipend too, although I don't know how much )

I believe if you press "Ctrl"+"Alt"+"D" the extra menu selections will go away but not in world atm... but you won't be able to "rebake" then.

To the original poster; This is not god mode. This is debug mode. Everybody has this. You use CTRL ALT D to access it, but everything is restricted to only work if your a Linden. Try some of those features out, you'll see they don't work.
