you can use llSetParcelMusicURL , to have music streamed from whatever url. although it doesnt state what format it needs to be in....
however, the knowledge base is most knowledgeable on the matter ![]() you'll need to have a read through and see whether or not last.fm streams its audio in a suitable manner. edit: after looking at last.fm, it's probably not doable, given that it streams different for each user & requires their on-site flash player, or their program to play. still worth looking into though, good luck! |

Thank you for the input...
SO, OK... I will modify my question: WHAT IS THE EASIEST WAY TO STREAM MUSIC FORM MY OWN MUSIC COLLECTION? See, ideally, I like a way to just randomly play music from my own iTunes. I know that's not possible. I'm looking for the next closest thing. Thanks for any advice. |

Get a shoutcast server. If you got oodles of bandwith you can set one up on your own machine if not you can rent them monthly. Stream from winamp using a plugin. Its pretty easy.

If you have the UPSTREAM bandwidth, the shoutcast server software is free (or NiceCast for the MAC). YOu don't need a pay-streamer. BUT, you're probably limited to playing your tunes ONLY on one parcel at a time. (if you have a fast fiber internet connection, you can probably stream to multiple locations.)
Also, the Quicktime streaming server is free. /327/25/177380/1.html |

Babbage Linden made a great radio for connecting to last.fm. However it would only allow a single person to listen to the music due to the way last.fm streams work
![]() http://blog.secondlife.com/2006/08/15/last-sound-system/ There is also a handy page here on streaming music in second life. http://secondlife.com/knowledgebase/article.php?id=083 Hope that helps Jamie Steaming Live Audio - Shoutcast / IceCast Hosting HQ (Bisque 245,155) |
