I have an Apple QTSS streaming server and am wondering if I can get this to provide a audio streaming for my land location.
I know that you can use QTSS to make live video feeds, but what about just the audio?
Or do I have to use the Shoutcast service only.
I know this is a technical question, is there a better place to ask this question ?

Hi Jonnie, The quicktime server can act as an audio streaming server too. Any Icecast compatible mp3 software that can send authenticated streams to an Icecast server will work with QuickTime/Darwin Streaming Server. Basically QTSS will act like an Icecast 1 server. You will need to set the MP3 broadcast password for the quicktime server. Then it will depend on what software you are going to use to send the stream with, but just need to supply the address, port, password and a mount point for the QTSS. Here is a example using Nicecast on the mac streaming to QTSS http://www.soundscreen.com/streaming/webcast/live_nicecast.htmlHope that helps Jamie Steaming Live Audio - Shoutcast / IceCast Hosting HQ (Bisque 245,155)

That's great, thanks for the info and links. There is even a working demo version too, so I have everything to get me started.
Kind Regards, Jonnie
