To be perfectly honest with you, why should i need to clearly state "I want to make some in game money" or is there any way to make $L when posting on a forum that is for an online GAME.....if i had made that post on a forum for....unlima online or some other online game there would have been none of this.
I think youd get alot further getting some players who arnt out to grab money, if it wasnt the priority on your own minds all the time.....you all automatically presumed real money, beleive me if i wanted to make real amounts of cash, i wouldnt use an online game to do that.
In regards to the quote that you pointed out, if you had read the post properly you would see that the statement pretty clearly points to the idea of making some money in game so i can do fun things, ie buy land and build for fun IN GAME.....

The problem here is that Second Life IS being marketed/portrayed in the media as a way to make real $$$$, when its really difficult to actually do that without actually putting real money or a gigantic time investment into it.
Linden Lab is a business, though, and looking at it from a realistic viewpoint, most successful business models do not allow people to take out as much money as they want with no money ever going in. Business just doesn't work that way, in a traditional sense.
Another part of the problem, I think, is if I happened to have a successful business in SL, why would I want to post all my trade secrets on a public forum and increase my own competition? People who have successful SL businesses got them from hard work, no other way. Sure SL is "fun" but there's really no free lunch here either, people can make a few $L here and there from camping but how much fun is it to spend your sl in a camping chair?
IMO the best way to get some money in SL is to spend $5-10 US and just buy some, its still cheaper than going to the movies.

Yeah, you can make money here. With those skills. I'll put it this way. If you take the same effort that it takes to make a level 60 Silver Ranger Light Elf with decent clan standing, and apply it to Second Life, you'll be making well over 1000 USD/month. Instead of paying 15 dollars a month for the privilege of expending that same effort 'grinding' against boring monsters, and occasionally getting pwned by a 15 year old loser.
