Is there a product or setting to block people "inspecting" your clothing, attachments or jewelry?

Thanks

Why do you care if someone inspects your prims? Often it is done to see the creator is so that the person inspecting can go buy it also.

BTW - that means someone thinks you have good taste in clothing, jewelry, hair, whatever.

There are lots of such products. None of them work, though, or not if people know how to use Advanced -- Rendering -- Hide Selected (or just Derender in Emerald).

Of course a lot of people don't bother with that.. they just see someone using one and automatically assume the wearer is wearing copybotted gear which he or she wants to hide and then they just ban the wearer from the shop or sim.

Unfortunately no matter how you try to hide it, people will always be able to tell if you've copybotted something.

There is no way to block Inspect.. :) For those who know how, they can get past the meanest anti-inspect shield, inspect everything, then freeze and kick the person for having a 15 MS time on the sim and bringing it to a crawl.. :)

That's what I use it for; I consider it advertising for the creator of the items.

I can ask the person where they got X or Y, but so often that results in "Oh gosh, I don't remember" (as if they can't think to click on it to see the creator), or a bunch of vague information about some shop with trees and pretties and... that it's often easier just to get the information myself using inspect.

I get suspicious of people who claim they can't remember. I start thinking they must have copied the item illegally.

But often when I inspect those dolts, it leads to a creator shop anyway... so I dunno.

For me, for everything I've ever bought, it comes in a folder and has the creator's info somewhere. And usually a landmark. When people ask me where I got something, and being as sexy as I am they often do - I tell them to wait a sec so I can get them the landmark, and try to send them right there to the spot where they can do their best to be half as pretty as me. :)

not only is there no way to defeat 'Inspect' but if i happen into a crowd of people or even just one person in my draw distance and happen to notice because of transparencies being highlighted that they are wearing one of those shields, guess who i am inspecting -first-?

I think the general assumption at this point is that anyone wearing an anti-inspect shield is either wearing or trafficking in stolen goods. You might wish to consider this aspect.

Well that would constitute just about any shield an AV would be wearing. There's a lot of reasons why someone would wear a shield and content thieves are not exclusively one of them.

Yes I have seen an inspect shield once. It is a lot of transparent prims around the avatar and is very efficient...

yeah, like if you're in one of the mafia families. I used to wear a shield after griefing attacks but it's been so long, they are long boxed up.
