I can`t find any tutorials or anything on how to make clothing and items for use on SL. What I thought was a tutorial on making those turns out to be just for textures. But that`s not what I`m looking for. I mean the skirts, shirts, etc your character wears and items either your character holds/wears or have for in the house (like furniture or decor).
So where can I find these tutorials?

I'd start by looking through the Content Creation forums here, as well as checking out places like the Ivory Tower of Prims and the Particle Lab in-world.

Well, following the link you gave me doesn`t have anything in relation to what I`m looking for. Seems to be more about creating action than items.

The Building Tips and Texturing Tips forums should be relevant to what you want.

Click here. Read that and then explore the rest of that forum (texturing tips) for help with baked clothing (the shirts/shoes/pants/etc you put on in the appearance menu) as well as prim clothing (items that are either worn or held by your avatar.) This forum has stickies that will get you to Robin's tutorials and guides. The building forum will help you with the prim properties if you can't find an answer in the clothing forum. I highly recommend the Ivory Tower for any prim related items you wish to build (be it worn items such as clothing, or furniture items). A

Thank you for the link but I am not looking for texturing.
Texturing is very limited to what you can make your clothing with. I cannot customize my skirt to having 2 layers of frills with texturing.

You have been directed several times to forums and places in SL that deal with building and texturing. Perhaps you're a little confused by the terminology. Building refers to working with prims, and all objects in SL except your avatar are made of these. Yes, buildings, trees, vehicles, weapons AND yes, prim clothing such as the flexi skirts and fancy boots and shoes you see everywhere. But these are created first of all as plywood cubes, spheres, tori etc. You WILL need to learn texturing to turn these into clothes.
Keep trying, it's a bit of a learning curve but it will come to you. Just remember, tiny steps.

From: BelovedDoll Kuhn All right, posting in the building forum. You may be missing the basic point: clothes ARE textures. Textures aren't just big square blocks for slapping on the side of buldings. They are also the basis for skin, clothing, even hair. All of them use patterns of color applied to a certain pattern and then imported in SL.

It must be the prim then I was looking for.
Once you make the prim, how exactly does it get "transformed" into being a clothing item rather than just an object?

Texturing is very limited to what you can make your clothing with. I cannot customize my skirt to having 2 layers of frills with texturing. hehe okay I will try first you will have to make the basic clothing which is in fact texturing and in the texture forum and of course the skirt itself needs a texture hence the pointing to the textur forum next you say you want with 2 + layers this is a prim skirt this is in the building forum AND there are many many threads about prim skirts and tools in the texture forum because this is where the clothing makers hang out so yes the bulk of your answers are in fact in the texture forum look for flexi prim skirt in just the last 3 days several threads on the issue have been either revived or people asked from fresh the building comes in because you will need to learn how to work with prims so you are pointed to the building forum because the hints on sizing and making prims do things is there lastly the ivory tower of prims as suggested will give you all the basics of building which in fact is what you need to make your skirt layers and yes often with layered skirts even you have an underlying avatar texture layer clothing as well for many reasons and the skirt layer itself will add an extra layer or embelishment depending on what you want so the short answer is 90% of what you need is in threads in the texture/designer forum and the other 10% is in the builder forum so you can learn how to make prims do stuff builders read the texture forum as well because otherwise all the houses would be solid colours and that default wood shape I would suggest actualy reading the forums and typing in the search terms skirt flexi prim skirt layers layered skirts etc you will find what you are looking for ^^ edited in after *blinks* my goodness I actualy know stuff when I came here you should have seen me try to make a simple chair .. i treated the prims like lego blocks not pretty. Everything is on these forums and ingame to make this skirts you will have to learn all sorts of stuff but after you learn it will be "old hat" and you will be answering questions too

Once you make the prim, how exactly does it get "transformed" into being a clothing item rather than just an object? you will go to the select menu and attach it to your avatar via that menu you need a pose stand edit the entire linked skirts there and it will then magicaly be a skirt but its actualy mostly prims as an aside you will get better help in the actualy designer forums as that is where they hang out really you are shorting yourself on information asking in general like this

Wilhelm, Beebo, Abba, Ann and Ceera in other places..you are paragons of patience and an example to all of us as to how to treat new residents.
I bow to you in awe.
I am so not that way (patient) but vow to follow your examples.

You are sounding more and more like you have never even seen the inside of SL, or have, but haven't experemented with anything. you wnat to kow how a prims skirt is made? Go buy one and dissect it.
