Are large prim penises (peni?) allowed in PG areas?

The answer appears to be yes. I abuse reported a very large plywood penis that was located on a parcel behind my new store yesterday, and lo and behold, it was resolved overnight! Gasp! Not the weeks and weeks I'm accustomed to!

So this morning I went to see if it was really gone. It wasn't. Then I looked up in the sky, and I saw two more, those these were better textured, on the side of a building a few dozen meters up. I abuse reported those too, just in case another Linden decides that those aren't acceptable. I didn't move to a PG area to have my eyes assaulted by this crap. I mean, I like a good penis, in the right context, but this isn't it.

The landowner hasn't logged in for two months now. I know this because I joined a group he was in just to see his last log-in date. So I don't know if he'll respond to my request to enable autoreturn. These objects aren't his.

Has anyone else run up against this kind of problem?

They're not allowed in PG areas. But these days the Lindens are so flooded with complaints about crap like this that they're of very low priority.

You'll have to visit a Linden sandbox on a Saturday night to see just how common the penis is. The sandboxes are full of nobs.

I personally don't give a damn. But what annoys me is that Linden Lab will happily dismiss a huge 200 ft cock in their sandbox. Yet somebody can post a picture of a plastic cock on the forums and it's the end of the world.

I found out that you need to call an inworld Linden to get things removed. We had particle spam and I kept ARing it and they kept telling me it was resolved tho the emitters were still there. Use the Live Help and say something like "Obscene object in PG sim needs to be removed". A inworld Linden eventually came and got rid of the emitters.

So even if it is resolved, they don't seem to actually get rid of what the thing is. And they don' arrange for an inworld Linden to do it. You have to do it.

Then it's really a shame that they're eliminating in-world help requests. We'll all be surrounded by giant prim penises, bouncing Marios, and worse, with no way to get rid of them.

Update: Mia Linden came over and removed the offending objects for me. Yay Mia! I still wonder though what will happen when we don't have Live Help.

I'm worried too; we had huge pics of a serial killer bouncing around for 5 days and then someone IMd me to see if I had any cheap land to sell? Coincidence? I don't know but since I didn't know I had to contact an inworld Linden, the grotesque pics just kept on rolling. I turned off particles but it is still uncomfortable to be griefed.

If there are no inworld Lindens, how will these things be removed?

What gives you the idea that there won't be in-world Lindens?

The biggest problem is when they do so called deal with this type of issue then ban them for 3 days.... OH NO! NOT 3 DAYS! What it that! BAN THEM FOR LIFE! Get rid of the trash on SL would ya! Stop messing around with this.

They can't ban somebody from "playing" SL. Most people have dynamic IP addresses. This means that they can just go get another avatar and make even bigger peni with a vengeance.

Some people are just trying to have fun and feel that a badly modeled penis isn't such a big deal. If you ban these people then they just become annoyed and very rebellious. It becomes a fight against oppression for them.

The Lindens log Hash information not just IP's, that I am 99.9% sure about. I am sure they are even logging way more then that. And as far as dynamic goes, when is the last time you tried to play this on dialup which mostly uses that? Could they just use a proxy... Sure but again good luck getting anywhere in world with that kind of connection. There are more ways to track somebody then just a IP. I wish people would figure that out.

P.S. And swinging a picture of a 10 foot penis is not "playing SL". Its lame.

The real problem is that we're in a shared space with people who we may find disagreeable. Until we can have our own space/sims, we're always going to have this problem.

Either that, or hell may freeze over and we all may suddenly develop a strong understanding and tolerance of eachother.

I guess but something tells me that most of them that think a giant penis sitting there is funny are not even close to 18 yet which means they should not be in here in the first place.

Why should rude crude behavior be tolerated or understood?

Does it matter if there isn't a central way of getting a hold of one in world? They could all be in world for all we know, but we wouldn't have the easy way of communicating with them. Yeah, I'm kinda depressed about it. Why should I care about the world when the people in charge doesn't? But this isn't on topic.

In the meantime, I've put some invisicubes with floating text in my neighbor's yard to cover up some of the other crap and saying that this is private property and not to litter. He hasn't been on in two months so I don't feel bad about taking up the prims. I think with all the crap on the lot, newbies think it's a sandbox.

Still, I think I'd like to apply for the job of LorenaBobbit Linden. It might be cathartic.
