Has anyone else experienced a grid border breach today?

It's true. This disaster could've been avoided with regular sacrifices. I suppose I could always sacrifice myself in the vent from Mt Pomponio (that popped up near my house when the lava changed course), but it's just not the same.

Seems to be a connection. What are the Ginnie readings in the Voids Sal? Anything like you have seen in the upsurdge of BC or Naut?

I'm not totally sure.. but I think that void flares can only occur on grid borders along the Void. Near spaces that are totally un-gridded. Not even places really. So that isn't as much of a coincidence as one might think. (I don't think.) And as far as the gini readings, I've never been able to get any readings of any sort from the Void. It doesn't seem to register at all on my scans. Along Cowell's southern border I've been able to get readings all the way up until the border, but nothing beyond it. It's most frustrating.

Bay City was different. I did register swarms of gridquakes in the general area prior to it's appearance, but I think that may have been the result of the Lindens' gridding of that area. I happened to be in that area at the time and the readings I was getting were from regions adjacent to what became Bay City. So there was some warning. And, of course, the Lindens had been planning on gridding those old regions of Nova Albion all along.

http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Department_of_Public_Works_maps

Nautilus City was a surprise. For us AND the Lindens. They had gridded the void regions of what became Nautilus City but nothing had appeared there. The Lindens were stymied. Until one day the city suddenly uncloaked. Some think Magellan may have had something to do with it's sudden appearance.

http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Nautilus_City_investigation

I wasn't in the area when Nautilus City emerged and I was unaware of it's unusual gridding. I'm afraid I don't have any gini readings of the area prior to it's appearance... though some of us have been studying it since and have seen many strange things there.

I suspect a 4 dimensional posititioning googleplex conflict caused by a bipolar pressure failure to the BLU interface.

What happened, Jannae?

Sea floor in Iris showing signs of instability.

Also seeing wildcat primoleum drilling rigs appearing in some Heterocera sims. Perhaps there is some linkage.

Sinaburoe disappeared, and although the sim has returned the lines formerly providing power to Sinaburoe from the Coonspiracy power generator in Noonkkot remain cut. Not only that, but there's no longer any sign of the power poles across the sim border.

To be fair, Zindra already looked awful before the grid crash though.

I can't say I disagree with you.

The gini nearest the Cowell lighthouse has run it's power cell dry and half of the protective field collapsed leaving just the gini perched on the corner of Champie's building operational. These prototypes just weren't made for such extended use.

Champie sent me a message a few days ago that, hopefully, means the worst may be behind us for now:

5 July, 2009

[12:36] Champie Jack: I've been monitoring the area here in Cowell and I see some changes that may indicate the Void Rift may be losing its power.
[12:36] Salazar Jack: Oh that is good news!
[12:36] Champie Jack: I was wondering if you had noticed any changes?
[12:37] Salazar Jack: I haven't been monitoring it too closely lately, but I will definitely take some readings later today.
[12:38] Champie Jack: I have 3 scans of the region that indicate fewer "danger" areas on the grid (at least in Cowell).
[12:39] Salazar Jack: Excellent! Thank you.

Here are the scans Champie made:

The far right image seems to show a more stable Cowell region.

The two gini devices in Grignano are still generating a stable field. But not for long I'm sure. Time to get something more permanent constructed in case these weakened void borders decide to give out again.

I don't know if it's related, but last time I flew from the Ahern Welcome Area across the bridge into the city, large area of buildings and water were missing.

Grid is in a big state of flux, lately I have withnessed numerous after effects of tempral drift of cloack fields when flying over large land masses, one second everything appears to fine then the next a cloack field forms over a section of land hiding it from view making it look like water and a bit later the land returns in view, strangely this only effects the land, trees roads and buildings can still be seen.

Dit someone lose a containment field around their quantum singelarety core?

Once in Andraca there appeared to be surrounded on 3 sides by just water, and couldn't teleport to sims in those directions or walk out, yet my alt could see my main from those 3 sides but couldn't walk in other than the good direction.
Also it was impossible to teleport from any sime up to 5 sims away to a sim on the other side of the broken sim.
Since then I've found sometimes I f I can't TP, I TP to a different continent to try and get to my destination from another angle and sometimes it works.
