I think it sucks. And I think a lot of the stuff that was being posted there is going to migrate into here thus getting this shut down as well.
Also, there was a post in there titled something like "What is LLs definiton of 'resolved'" I wanted to see that answered. I thought it was one of the best posts ever made there. |

I am glad it was closed because it didn't seem to have any purpose anymore except for people to air their gripes.

Also, there was a post in there titled something like "What is LLs definiton of 'resolved'" I wanted to see that answered. I thought it was one of the best posts ever made there. I don't think they're ever truly sure that whatever they did was actually the cause, or what the outcome will be. On Linden Answers, flooded and ignored as it has been for the past few weeks, I don't think it makes much of a difference. Most of the recent posts - or the ones I read anyway - should have gone to resident answers if anywhere. I do think it might have been helpful to move LA to somewhere below RA in the list so it wasn't the first thing people would encounter, coupled with a rename to Linden Feedback or something similar. We still loose out though, quite often I'd read someone's question and the response and learned something new that I wouldn't have otherwise known about. If they proposed regular Q&A townhall sessions, where you can send in questions in advance, with the ability to do some - limited - follow up during the townhall that might be an acceptable alternative. |

I'm of a very mixed mind about the whole thing, quite honestly. I'm not happy about it, but something needed to be done.
I'll decide on the whole of it, once I see it in action. Two of my concerns are: 1. There will always need to be Lindens present in Linden Village. There are questions that we feel are important to our continual use of this 'platform,' and we'll want timely answers. If there aren't Lindens there, people are going to be annoyed and justly so. This will become their only means of player to Linden communication, so it will take on even more importance in their mind. I thought that the Lindens were understaffed, however. 2. Being able to get to Linden Village. Umm.. do I really need to explain this one? I mean, we're having so many issues in world, many revolving around TP issues. Also, lets not forget lag, non-rezzing things and the general mess. Okay, maybe forcing the Lindens to be in world will help them understand what we go through. I change my mind on this one. _____________________

Once again no warning
Once again no replacement already in place Once again no test of said replacement for effectiveness Once again no list of Lindens, their specialties, and how to contact them Once again no announced increas of phone and e-mail support staff Once again major change on a weekend Once again our voices silenced in yet another venue Strife please leave this thread open, appropriate or not people need a place to vent about this thoughtless move on LL's part Re: Linden Villiage - torly posted in the blog a few minutes ago saying that they will not be requiring Lindens to be in-world....what do you bet that that island is empty all the time within a month. |

....Re: Linden Villiage - torly posted in the blog a few minutes ago saying that they will not be requiring Lindens to be in-world....what do you bet that that island is empty all the time within a month. I'll take your bet. Let's say US$100 to make it interesting? If at any time during the next month I can successfully find and chat with a Linden in their village, you pay me in L$ (roughly 33,000, right?) And to keep 'em honest, I won't split the proceeds with any Linden. Put your money where your fingers are. I'm tired of the whinging. _____________________

This sums up the whole SL these days. NO LINDENS INWORLD!? WHAT THE HELL? They are cutting the $11.50 per hour lindens now? Unreal! |

2. Being able to get to Linden Village. Umm.. do I really need to explain this one? I mean, we're having so many issues in world, many revolving around TP issues. I was thinking about that, too.. Got in there and looked around - Pathfinder has a cool tachikoma! - just after the blog post but it was pretty empty. I expect that I won't have an easy time getting back once word gets around.. Also, lets not forget lag, non-rezzing things and the general mess. Okay, maybe forcing the Lindens to be in world will help them understand what we go through. I change my mind on this one. I looked around but there's no land for sale in the area.. What a great place for a 512m2 casino with 40 camp-chairs!! ![]() |

Nope...anytime after the next month...I'm saying it will take a month for them to get bored with Linden Village and stop showing up. Can't afford US$100 US$10 I can do though |

LA was a useless forum. It was ignored by LL and just allowed for more frustration on the part of the residents.
Phone support should be the next to fall. |

Once again no warning Re: Linden Villiage - torly posted in the blog a few minutes ago saying that they will not be requiring Lindens to be in-world....what do you bet that that island is empty all the time within a month. I haven't read Torley's Full submission yet, i Would like to see a direct quote of it though as it doesn't seem to be in Keeping with this submission in a Blog by Robin Linden; - We’ve started a restructure of the liaison team, with Linden liaisons organizing into specialized teams for more focused in-world support. Initially the teams will include Volunteer Coordinators, Estate Services, In-World Experience Team, International specialists, and First Responders (to address significant griefing problems). Stay tuned for more specifics about these roles and how their help will be available to the residents. By the time we’re finished, we’ll have about 50 Liaisons (up from the current 25) working in these groups. From the sound of this, it looks like we will be Getting MORE Linden presence, Not Less. I think either you have Misread something or Torley has Given a Mistaken Impression, This has Not been Entirely Unknown in Torleys past posts. I DID read the reasons for the removal of the Linden Answers section and it all seemed to Boil down to one VERY Valid Reason. Redundancy. It looked to me like everything i read there (In Linden answers) could have been dealt with in the Other locations Listed in the Blog, so apart from losing a place to Vent Anger, i don't really see anything as being Lost here. I definately DO agree that they Could have given us a Bit more notice of this Change, Lately they have been VERY good about letting us know what is going on, but this was definately a slip. The whole of Robins Blog, Posted above IS available in the Linden Blogs and it seems to address most of your concerns other than the Notification, and Timing aspects. Angel. |

LA was a useless forum. It was ignored by LL and just allowed for more frustration on the part of the residents. Phone support should be the next to fall. It didn't used to be, Torley would answer 1-2 pages of posts every day... Angelique...Robin did indeed post that however Torley said this... While experimental, I hope we can get more Lindens inworld and you can meet us personally and ask us questions in a casual, relaxed atmosphere, where you aren’t waiting… days for a reply. I promise to make more of a committment to be inworld also this... We aren’t enforcing Lindens to have strict show-ups inworld; this is done on an engagement of personal interest, across the company’s departments. As I mentioned, you can help encourage us to see how important it is, and I know many Residents have wished to meet Lindens they like. Now’s a good opportunity to let us know. from another entry a little ways down... As mentioned, Rob and Jesse already have their office hours up. And if this catches on, and I hope it will, we’ll need to post our office hours in a central place for you to easily find! So, let’s hope it catches on. It didn't have to be that way, subforums for different topics would have made searching for previous and similar answers easier. Also a lot of the vented anger is because the other methods that Robin listed...phone support, e-mail support, bug reports, were NEVER responded to. Posting to Linden Answers was a last resort, kind of a "can I speak to your supervisor" kind of thing. It's hard to ask for a supervisor when nobody answers the support phone and nobody ever calls you back. I always felt that while Torley was replying to the LA forum that concerns were heard, empathized with, passed along to the correct person, and eventually addressed. Unfortunately things got worse and answers became few and far between once Torley left. So yes, while LA was redundant, LL made it that way. I don't think that the lack of notice was a slip, I think it was planned. It was decided a couple of weeks ago, I think, since that is when answers stopped appearing. Why would those Mod.'s take the time to sift through the forum when it's was going to be closed in a couple weeks?? I think they meant to do it this way so they didn't get a backlash in the forum for the announcement. They NEEDED to "beta test" their new system before getting rid of the old one, much as they test updates on the test grid before releasing them on the main grid... |

I'm glad they've closed it. It was painful to watch them answer the same stupid questions over and over and over and over and over...

Is this thread appropriate for "Resident Answers" ?
Resident Answers is here as a place for us to ask other residents for help. Please help keep it on track, so that it doesn't vanish like Linden Answers. ![]() |

What about residents who want answers to simple questions like Membership plans before they even venture onto the grid?
Now it is up to new residents to *find Waldo* to get answers to simple questions, we all know how well live help works...or the typical, *I will ask around* comment from the Lindens. Just like most sites for any game, when the residents/players are unhappy they close forums. It is bad advertising for them for people to read page after page of gripes as well as page after page of unanswered *simple * questions. Next bomb I am sure they will drop will be higher prices for everything. Monthly fees probably go up to 14.99 like other games and I am sure mainland tier will be next. And page after page of unhappy users aren't going to sell well. I give the whole forum less then a month before it is gone. _____________________
