Fix This Crap Already

jesus how damn hard is it to fix this, take SL down like you always do and fix it, not like anyone can do a dang thing anyway come on what are you all doing throwing a party???

As the Terms of Service make clear as long as the grid isn't down for a 24-hour or longer period then Linden Lab has held up its end of the bargain and they don't have to credit any accounts for the service disruption.

Note that as the current "attempt" at fixing the present slate of bugs, hiccups and phone weasels has already taken longer than 24-hours since the original blob post if LL had taken the grid down to do this they would've been obligated to hork over some cash back to Premium accounts.

Actually, I'd have just been happy if they had extended the billing cycle by a day. Which is what my service provider for my text-based Mush did when it went down for 12 hours for a MOVE. But then, they also understand the fine point of customer service too

The only time I've seen an account credit go out was after the December 2004 grid crash. The account credit was only paid to landowners as we were unable to access our land and the Terms of Service had failed to take into consideration that customers shouldn't be obligated to pay tier fees for land they're unable to access. This Terms of Service "loophole" was promptly closed in the next version.

OMG ... being new to SL I've tried to refrain from the negative comments here. I was having a blast with this game up until now. But SL crashed on me, and now when I log in, I've lost it all. My clothes, my shapes, skins, hair ... everything. SL tells me it's loading ... but then it times out. I'm naked in a public place using some default body I don't recognize and SL won't allow me to dress myself or fix it. Is this temporary or did they just decide to delete all my stuff for no reason? How could this happen?

This is called "Ruthing" and yes, it is temporary. Cases like you detail ahve happened before. Where in, the Ruthing seemed "permanent". This usually oocurs during issues with the Search and Database (Somehow they are correclated. I'm not sure how though).

Though annoying and frustrating, this will probably "fix" itself once LL gets this issue resolved. I would still highly suggest filling out a Ticket through the Support page, and/or, filling out a Bug Report in-world so LL is aware of the problem specific to your account.

If it really isn't that hard, I would suggest you go to https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Open_Source_Portal and help by fixing things yourself.

It's bad tongiht. Having issues teleporting, of course search is down, when you look up My Land, is says "Service Not available" and my lindens says "Loading...", and the list goes on.

..except that they haven't open-sourced the asset server, simulator, or other back-end systems yet.

and in it (it's a long thread) I came across a reference of changing my starting location and I am happy to report that I am back to my normal "cute" SL self. But that "Ruthing" experience was a little scary.

Friends and I went aggro over teleports today, and the prim count is wrg on my land,
I took back a 59 prim object, is tech gone, doesn't show, in About Land doesn't reflect that. There are a few pausey moments, I swear my viewer is going to crash, annoying.
And for some reason Inventory ate one of my Jakkals' wings? wth?
