It makes no sense, yesterday they would simply manually move the inventory and the problem was fixed. Sorry I couldn't help you out.

They aren't fixing them through live help today Arksun. Drop an email to frontier@lindenlab.com he said he would report the problem.

SL has had two different, overlapping issues in the last few days: 1) Anyone who downloaded the NEW viewer may be having problems due to outdated drivers or inappropriate Preference settings. If you download the new viewer, I strongly recommend going to the Linden blog and reading the notices posted there. Some people can solve their problems just y reading those notes; others may find that the problems don't have a workaround (yet) and will have to download the PREVIOUS viewer. 2) There have been server side problems as well, which may have corrupted some people's inventory. These problems are supposedly "resolved", so if you DO NOT have the new viewer, but you still have problems, you'll need to contact customer support. Good luck, everyone! It's not the viewer as I had the problem before I updated to the new version. Rheya Linden from live help manually fixed my problem yesterday...I played for several hours today and upon trying to login tonight, the problem is back. Live help is now saying they will "report" it. What happened to the "fix" they said they had ready to go? |

I'm still using the old viewer -- having deliberately postponed upgrading until I finished an essential project -- and as of a few minutes ago I can't get inworld.
I was logging in without problems all evening long, then stopped to watch CSI. Now I, too, am getting the dreaded "copy inventory to new database" failure message. Damn. The good news is that this is a server side error, not a viewer related issue. The bad news is that this is a server side error and god only knows what is melting down at LL. _____________________

This isn't good at all. Exactly, what DID happen to this supposed fix of which they never updated the blog. I mean is this going to happen every single time our user accounts cycle through this 'account maintenance' that it gets stuck? And now they're not even helping in live help. Wow, so i've finally experienced the bad side of sl and just when i was working hard on starting up my shop *sigh* I get the feeling this time my problems not going to be fixed for a whole day, at least... |

For anyone who has missed this Linden blog entry (as yet to be updated since yesterday):
Early this morning we discovered a broken query which causes a malfunction in the way inventory is supposed to work in world. The problem appears when copying inventory from one of our databases to another. You will know if you experience this bug as you’ll receive a message that states: “Unable to complete transform: Copy inventory to new database”. The fix for this has already been written and we will be deploying it later this morning. We’ll keep you updated as we know more. Evidently they don't "know more" yet. The problem appears to be growing.... _____________________

We're all aware of that blog, and when the blog was made, in world live help WAS fixing our accounts, by passing on specific names, i got straight back in after someone passed my username on. But it seems this time they're not, could just be the time of day (evening monkeys on the helpdesk), we'll see... |

We're all aware of that blog... Sorry, just thought some people might need a recap at this point in what is a distressingly long thread. _____________________

3 days now
03-29-2007 20:35
I've been having this exact same problem for 3 days now. On the first day, I was on for about 30 minutes, then crashed out and couldn't log on anymore. Had the same messages as reported in this thread. I sent in a report to the support email address and they sent a response the next day saying that it had been fixed. That night, when I still had the problem, I sent another email. That one didn't even get a response. Tonight the account still doesn't work and I sent another email. The autoresponder isn't even working.
Is there anyone on here who had the problem and successfully had it fixed? I'm trying to get a new business off the ground. There's a lot of little costs that keep getting taken out of my account, and all I can do is watch my balance drop as my business whithers and dies. If anyone knows someone online that can actually get results, please forward my name along to them too. Thanks. |

What I'm not understanding here is why people who had their inventory manually moved yesterday - are getting this message again? Did it revert?

Still got that problem, (pass my name please) and the sad part is that Lindens is aware of it, and dont do anything to help.

This is sad
03-29-2007 20:57
I agree about what a sad statement this is for Second Life and the Lindens. Our inventories are a computer file or an entry in a computer file. How hard can it be to copy the data where it needs to go? Millions of dollars are being spent every day in SL, and we can't get a file copied?

Got hit in a sim crash, now I can't log in either. Same error message.
This is crazy. |

Same problem being discussed on another thread
03-29-2007 22:59
For anybody following the discussion in this thread, but unaware of the other one, it is located at:
/111/49/173935/1.html Someone there just noticed that nearly everyone with a problem has a name that starts with A. This is way past the point of being ridiculous. |

all your items should be fine. They are stored in a table in the database. So if the error said something like "Unable to locate table" then you worry. It's just an annoying little glitch that happened to effect us. We hounded poor Nicole so i think she's going to report it as soon as the right staff arrive. Not much we can do right now but hang in there. And I'm absolutely sure our stuff won't be harmed. GL

Guess I'm another B!
03-30-2007 01:47
Everything worked fine for me (as good as it gets anyway) 6 hours ago when I logged off.
Tried to log-in in last 10 minutes - no chance matey (same Inventory message)! Live Help - no good. Are there any Forum Moderators who read these threads ? If there are, why don't they update threads in here so we all know what the latest is? |

Moderators Update
03-30-2007 02:20
There are 11 named Moderators for Resident Answers - having checked each one, ALL are offline.
Of course, we have to accept they need their sleep and log-off time too. But SL is not used by USA citizens alone - SL is used Worldwide, so why aren't there any Moderators online at anytime covering times when ANYONE needs help ? COME ON SL - when it works, it is ok - when it is broken, you are useless by not responding to emails/telephone messages/live help etc. CUSTOMER SERVICES IS A SHAM. |

And now there is some person too with the letter B. But this is a joke, because i have also a Alt avatar with letter A and she can log in without problems,i don't understand this.

Instead of saying "if anyone is online in SL, please add my name to the list" - would someone tell them it has started at "A and is going throught the alphabet" - that way WE ALL can get it fixed and back into SL and carry on with our businesses etc.

It's a perpetual adventure: everyday when i logg in, I discover a new bug (like connecting to my club and walls and roof disapeared, gone everywhere in the zone). And now, it's better: no need to log to discover a bug!!!
But, as said someone on this forum, we'll have a voice chat!!! More bugs everyday, but a lot of new improvements. Is it me or it would be better to fix bugs first? Any todo list? No? Do you want us to make one for you? ^^ So, Linden staff, please fix what it needs to be fixed before doing new things. For us, it's a game, but, for you, it's a job... Don't act like it is a game for you, be adult. ![]() |
