/me envies you the 768 MB video card. Admires the rest, then pats his 18-month-old Mac, which also has dual 2GB chips and a bunch of good stuff -- and no viruses, spyware, or Windows problems of any kind. But seriously, good going on your new system, and congrats. : D

It's so nice having a high end machine, isn't it? Welcome to the "Good FPS Club". Our numbers are growing, slowly but surely. If you want to play geek wars for a minute, here are my specs: CyberPower Infinity 1950 - Proessor: (Quad-Core)Intel® Core™ 2 Extreme QX6700 with Factory OverClocked to 3.46GHz EM64T
- Operating System: Windows XP Media Center 2005 (with free Vista Home Premium upgrade, which I have yet to take advantage of)
- Chassis: NZXT Zero Full Tower Case Black & Brushed Aluminum with 13 Drive Bays
- Cooling System: CoolerMaster Liquid CPU Cooling Fan System Kit + 2 Extra Case Fans
- Motherboard: EVGA NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI Motherboard
- Memory: 2GB Corsair DDR2 6400 XMS2 Extreme 800MHz with Heat Spreader
- System Drive: Extreme Performance (RAID-0) 300GB (150GBx2) Gaming Western Digital Rapter 10,000RPM SATA150 16MB Cache WD1500ADFD
- Storage Drive:150GB Gaming Western Digital Rapter 10,000RPM SATA150 16MB Cache WD1500ADFD
- Primary CD ROM/DVD ROM: NEC Dual Layer 18X +- DVD-RW 7170A w/ Nero Software
- Secondary CD ROM/DVD ROM: SONY 16X DVD
- Graphics Processor: Dual 768MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ 8800 GTX with SLI
- Power Supply: TAGAN 1100WATT QUAD SLI READY
- Monitor: Dual Samsung SyncMaster 191T+ 19" Flat Panel - Silver (already had these)
- Sound Card: Soundblaster X-Fi (that nVidia onboard 7.1 audio kind of blows)
- Keyboard: Goldtouch Tenting Ergonomic Keyboard (already had)
- Mouse : Logitech MX-510 Gaming Mouse (already had)
- Warranty: 3-Year Limited Warranty plus Life-Time Toll-Free 24/7 Phone Support
- Professional Wiring for All WIRINGs Inside The System Chasis with High Performance Thermal Compound on CPU
- 12 in 1 Internal Card Reader
- BLUE COLD CATHOD LIGHT 12"
- Free Cyberpower® T-Shirt
Except for the three items I labeled "already had", that whole rig was only around $4500, about 30-40% less than a comparable rig from Alienware at the time (about 3 months ago). I don't know how Cyberpower stays in business with those prices, but I'm certainly not complaining.

From: Chosen Few ...that whole rig was only around $4500... Oh thank god! I was about to kick myself for not getting everything on that list when I built my new computer at the beginning of the year. Then I saw the price tag and reality kicked in. For $1200 (which included XP OS), I did all right and can play SL well. Not kick-ass, but I'm riding the concurrency waves, so I'll be content. But as soon as I win the lottery, I'm on that gaming rig like white on rice.
