From: ZsuZsanna Raven I use it because I happen to like the color red. I haven't talked about how you speak in your posts now have I? Until there are rules that say we cannot use colors in our posts then I will stop, until then, get back on topic kthx! It is impolite or downright rude in some asian cultures to write things in red, especially names. It means you're wishing for them to die. You should respect that. Besides, red bold comic sans letters are somewhat childish, don't you think?

By all means, feel free to mute me since I've ruined your entire day by my text preferences. I certainly hope no sleep is lost over it as well.
Thanks and have a Great day!

A couple of remarks here:
Some of you guys don't know what a software crash really means. A long time ago i used a program called ICQ, if it crashed it didn't just stop working, it took down your entire win98 computer with it. Including your file transfer(no resume suport, 3K/Sec speeds) and that word document you didn't save for over 3 hours. I kept using ICQ becuase, it was THE MOST REVOLUTIONARY SOFTWARE EVER at the time
About lag, how come my AthlonXP 1800+ with a GF2 GTS card doesn't lag and my best friends A64 3800+ with GF7 does? verry simple, he absolutly had to put the view range on the maximum possible with every option turned on. "because my pc can handle it" guess who's still rezzing objects and downloading textures 10 minutes after my PC's finished???
About the server software, it's build on opensource software by hackers and it smells like opensource software build by hackers. They are working on a major serversoftware upgrade when they will move to mono. please don't have them waste anymore time on the previous generation software (the current one) they know they can only apply bandages to the cuurent software, they know they need the next architecture version and they know the next architecture is not yet entirely ready
The only company to have ever build such a large *grid* of computers communicating with each other before Linden Labs is google. and the stuff google does is simple compared to simulating a world like SL (from a programmer point of view)
I believe, SL is the next big thing on the internet, I also believe they know the internet culture. I see they know how the internet is evolving. Let these guys do their job, and don't scream fire and murder unless there is an actual fire or murder

It will be a sight to be seen.

From: Ekeinus London Cool,
Thanks for the idea Peggy. everyone come and buy the hottest new item in SL. A sandwich board sign that you wear that says " The End is Near" like the nuts in Times Square wear Yes those Global Warming people are nuts that's for sure.

To our many critics who argue that we should have done things differently, we suggest that they create their own operating system...

Blame the French !!

From: Brazil Comet I have seen also (after Christmas and New Years Eve break) an accelerated number of new registrations. The last 24 hours the number of new residents was for sure more than 50k. Yesterday also the number was quite increased. What are all these about? Brazil - I've noticed a huge increase in french being spoken at my local infohub, according to one newcomer from France, SL had just been featured on a popular television show. Last month, a major population increase came from.........Brazil *grin* The registration increases ebb and flow with SL appearing in the news channels around the world, and, fwiw, I'm saying 50K concurrent on April 1st *grin*

From: Regan Turas ...
Yes, there's going to be a LOT of pain as SL grows both in terms of membership and in its interenal code. This is cutting edge stuff, folks -- a whole new world in terms of internet usage. I'm convinced that this is far more than a new "game," it's a new PLATFORM, like WorldWideWeb was a new platform. ... Everyone who gives up in sheer disgust, because their expectations are inappropriate for this particular venture, will be replaced by someone else who does "get" it. I couldn't agree more. In the future everything we do on our computers could be done in a vr instead of a desktop environment. From: Regan Turas Rather than leave SL in the midst of these "troubles", I've just finished buying more land. I'm in this for the long haul, learning as fast as I can, and surfing the waves as best as I can. Things will get worse, then better, then probably worse again as the platform scales up and up.
I don't know where this ride is going, but I plan on holding on until the end. And I'm well aware that the money I've put into SL may not be pulled out again. That is a risk I am willing to take, so I'm careful not to gamble more than I can afford to lose. Same here. Even if SL crashes and burns I think everything I learn about operating here will help me get up to speed that much more quickly in whatever comes next. And if SL lives on and thrives, then having been here since the early days will pay off in many practical and satisfying ways. From: someone But just remember, the payoffs of being on the ground floor of a new technology could be enormous. I'm with you.
