Why the huge "communications" box?

Why can't I reduce the size of the new communications box? It's so huge! How big do they think our computer screens are?

just shrink it down. Left click on bottom right corner, where its orange. Hold down the button and resize.

It keeps on getting bigger every time you close it though, there's no real way to do it.

Not Another Voice Thread!

Some Linden programmer guy is just compensating for something.

No, this is a communications box thread, not a voice thread. I didn't download the optional thingie so I do not have much experience with it. I did see it in First Look, but that was a brief exposure.

It's not a voice thread.... It's a thread meant to humiliate the older bifocal wearin, large print needin SLers......

There's a limit. It doesn't allow me to reduce it to the sizes I liked before (long and narrow -- two lines of text -- for the old chat history, and taller and thinner for the "IM"

See this thread for a patch. The earlier version of the patch lets you resize the box better. The later version takes Chat out of the box entirely, the way it was in the old viewer.

Forget it!

People have been complaining about this same thing from the very first day this stupid over-sized contraption Linden calls a chat box was first brought out. And for what? For nothing!

Linden got some 10yr old to design this system because that's exactly what it looks like, something made by some kid in a garage. And although they made up a blog with pretty designs and called it a "feedback" on the chat system blog, they did absolutely nothing although they got many, many complaints regarding this ridiculously large, screen guzzling, ordinary contraption.

Even now, many months later people are still complaining and nothing has been done nor will it ever. And not just the size but the features it has, for the most part, they don't work. Most people have also complained about their systems not working at all. Background noises drowning out chat and the sliders on prefrences not working.

All in all one hell of a voice chat box Linden proudly advertises to the world as being the best latest thing sl has. Just like the bugs and everything else sl has, nothing seems to ever work and they haven't a clue as to how to fix it and fix it properly. Oh, but don't ever be late in making your payments.

Yes, you can tear the IM section you get from someone and you can down-size it. But what's the use? Soon as you get another IM the monster box returns again so why bother?
In all their wisdom, they actually believe this truly works. Go figure!
