I grew up (although some would deny I ever did) near Manhattan.

I grew up in the Kansas City area - mostly on the MO side. Had relatives in Wichita for a few years when I was really young, so spent a wee bit of time there.

That's me when I opened Isabeau's pictures.

Seriously late night last night and I have a stupid business retreat to go to today. Luckily, I get to take the new bike to a baseball game afterwards, so that should be fun. It might even stop raining! Everyone have fun today and be safe.

A big 'TYVM  " to LL this morning. My home region went down "For Maintenance" almost 3 hours ago, totally destroying my plans for the morning.

Did anyone notice in that one ...

The portly guy in the white shirt, who triggered the whole incident with his thoughtlessness, is faffing about during the action, and then at the end he's recording the fisticuffs on his phone camera.

Jerk!!
I was convinced it's real, but the set up seems staged. There are too many people in the area...a woman making copies, two guys pointing at a map...and wouldn't more than one person go to the woman who gets hit with the monitor to see if she was ok and remove her from the room? Also, the two times he is tazed, are conveniently off camera.

Unless the way things they react to stuff in Russia is completely different than in the US, I smell a stunt of some type.

If it is real it looks as if all they have all been somewhat emotionally damaged by having to toil in those little cubicles. But I've noticed that when confronted with new situations many people don't have a response ready and can't come up with one for the occasion and so just act like these folks.

Here's the cell phone video:

I went to KC twice to see Bruce Springsteen at Kemper Arena. We ate ate a nice restaurant next to the stockyards and there was nothing on the menu that a vegetarian could eat - even the baked potatoes were infused with beef fat or something. But no matter they were the two best concerts of my life so I always remember Kansas City very fondly.

Yes, that is very much KC - they are really in to their beef. For those of us that are not vegetarians, it is very very good beef. I still have family scattered thruout that area, but I have not been back in quite a few years. I do miss the beef, though Denver is not bad in that area. Mostly I miss all the beautiful fall colors on the trees.

I went to 1 concert at Kemper back in the mid seventies. The Eagles right after Joe Walsh had joined. The tickets were either 5 or 6 dollars. Saw them again 3 or 4 years ago in Tucson, and I paid $125 per ticket. :p

See, you are deeper into this place than I am. And having finally met you the other night, I can say you are worthy of your rating.

I'm glad to be back in the land of constant sun, but while I was in Kansas I did enjoy all the many varieties of weather.

I've been Trouted! A respectable 6.2 Thank you Trout :)
Too low I would have been embarassed - too high I would have been insulted.
Poor guy, not easy being a slut judge, (but someone has to do it).

Phew! It went up to 30degres (36 humidex) today. Beautiful, muggy saturday.
One of my brothers is in France for the month and I've been popping over to feed the cats and water the plants. I haven't been on a vacation for so long...
