From: Yosef Okelly If you live in the mid-west, you know there are basically two types of corn (actually, there are many different varities, but let's start slow) Yellow corn; also called field corn, pig food or yankee chow. This is the stuff sold in the stores I don't care if the label says "sweet corn" on the side. It ain't.
Sweet corn has a usable life of like 2 hours after you cut it from the stalk. It's sugars start to turn to starch immediatly and rapidly. Keeping it cold and moist (like in an ice chest) will slow th process down considerably and it may ven still be fit to eat after 6 hours or so I have ben told). The saying goes that you start th water boiling first, thn go pick the corn and run back to the house. If you trip, throw those ears of corn to the hogs and go get some fresh corn. Yosef, Beings that I am from Iowa I can relate to what you are saying. And also a good way to get some good corn is to go early in the morning to the farmers market. And use your thumbnail and press on a kernel and if it is still moist and well poppable or piercable with your thumbnail it is still good if you have to work at it forget it. You can blanche it to freeze it for the winter and boy oh boy corn on the cob in the middle of winter is something to be held Bec

good morning! I saw Yosef last night at the hang out, we were all alone dancing our little avatar buts off for a little bit anyway before I had to take care of stuff. Then my side of the block blew a transformer and got kicked off the internetz at the worst time possible. But today is a shiny new day cant wait to soak it up.

dammit....I can see today is going to be a bad day.
I just opened a bottle of milk to find it is off, despite the use by date not being for a while.
Then, I discovered I have a slow leak under my sink..
blah...

From: Maureen Boccaccio OK, threadies..don't faint, but I have an actual question for you all, since you are here. And no, I am NOT going to go ask it in some other forum/thread. I have a chair, inworld. It does not have any embedded "sit" script thingies. How do I make one or find one to put inside or whatever one does? Thanks! I am about three pages behind in reading right now- but i have a sit script a friend gave me to use in a chair i made. If you still need it- I will drop it on you when i come later today. I made a pillow and put it in in then put the pillow on the chair. You need to tweak and pull and align the axis so that yo sit at the right height and direction and such. I am sure someone has a better explanation - in which case I can still use some instruction on aliginment so feel free to explain-

Good morning, fellow thread posters. Would anyone care to join me for a southwestern omelette? EDIT: That picture won't embed for some reason. But trust me, it was good.
