Hi, Pep!

Thought I might see you pop up after I posted that. Still can't read it, but no doubt it's dripping with scathing wit ;)

Have a good one!

I agree that everyone should post their pictures here. I think there's just a few who dislikes it, and they don't have to click the link to the pictures. I can see that having a separate thread only for pictures may be a good thing, as "somebody" suggested.

So many posts appear so fast, and posting a picture just before someone starts an argument back and forth pushes the picture several pages back. Very few have the time to go back so many pages, and it can give a feeling of that picture was ignored, no one bothered to say something nice this time either...

I don't think so, but I like the Show Your Style thread in SLU so well, that I more than less stopped posting here. This thread take too much time to follow.

I was thinking about starting my own blog, so that I can have my vanity pictures there. But I am so slow and careful, so I'm just thinking about it. Brenda wants me to call the blog "Chicken Little" because I go so back and forth, haha.

What are you talking about Marianne? The pictures load automatically in my browser for the main part. They slow the thread load down as well. But please don't suggest that I should turn off images; there are other graphics in the forums that are useful, amusing and original, unlike the great majority of the vanity pics posted in this specific thread for competitive purposes - and which in most cases fail to achieve their aims.

That's two votes then.

I would argue that it is more the case that the size of the images, and more especially the senseless repetitive quoting of them, that pushes the few interesting posts here back.

Most of the time a pic is ignored because of the prevalent belief that "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything".

An even better solution!

Pep (links to blogs and flickr vanity pics can be put in sigs - it's easier to ignore them.)

Ah, I stand corrected. Because I have images turned off, and always have, it was stupid of me to assume that everybody has images turned off. No, I will not suggest that you should turn off images. You have valid reasons for that.

Hey Marianne - there already is a vanity thread actually - but this Thread is sort of the backyard, chat-with-your-neighbor-over-the-fence sort of thing so many pictures end up here.

And it doesn't really require keeping up with you know- it flows and you just fall into it, flow along and get out when you are tired of swimming and come back when you feel like it again. Or read avidly everyday, or once and never again- it's completely yours to decide!

Good morning Threadville!

Tonight is Bret Favre's first game as a Viking.

Now the Vikings paid $12 million for his surgically repaired arm for this year. That may seem like a lot, but it was all part of the Cash for Clunkers program...so it's all good.

(and I really need to learn how to phrase a good joke! sheesh!)

I have been informed sometimes all that fanning might be related to a too tight corset

Does this mean I can look forward to some bodice-busting? ;)

Worn by the fanner, or the fannee.

It's often the...fannee...which necessitates the fanning

Skell made me spend money.
I went to LeeZu and pick up a few things.
This was my first outfit from there.

I started changing and have pants and a skirt from a different outfit but this combination struck me.

This is my outfit for tonight. It looks a bit more goth than I typically wear but I like it anyway :)

You chose wisely. :) You look fabulous. :)

lol....oh dear lord, that was funny.

Gift-giving. You'd think it would be such an easy thing. For example, I have the hardest time trying to think of good gifts for my folks. They have everything, need nothing (per se), and really don't want any more tchotchkes to clutter up their home. I finally hit on gift cards/certificates to their favorite restaurants. :)

Gaudi-esque!

This build, by prefab maker Ace Albion, reminds me of Gaudi too:

It's downstream from Riverwalk, on the right just past all the art builds.
.

That's one cool build.

You know, I'm so glad my friend Kit introduced me to SL for any number of reasons, but since I've been here, I've heard more music (and such a variety!) and seen more art that I've experienced in years. And I've learned, a lot, about so many different artists. :)

So, thank you all, for sharing with me. :)
