Don't worry, I gave up eating bunnies long ago. Strictly on a human diet now.

And yes I have a cave. A sky cave 2500m up.That is where I keep my newb collection.:o

Outside of it:

I NEED a sky cave. NEED one.

/me will be shopping for one tonight.

Sorry, maybe that's why it's an English Breakfast. Except for bitter marmalade we don't do sweet stuff at breakfast.

That reminds me of a something I heard the other day:

"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit; wisdom is knowing not to put tomatoes in a fruit salad"

Pep (But what about a banana?)

Creme Brulee French Toast with Drunken Strawberries

Here is a sinfully rich and sweet recipe for French toast. Perfect for special occasions or Sunday brunch. Easy to make.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 45 minutes

Ingredients:
  1. * * * * Creme Brulee French Toast * * * *
  2. 1 loaf Challah or Brioche Bread, sliced into 1 1/2-inch thick slices
  3. 1/2 cup Butter, unsalted (1 stick)
  4. 1 cup Brown Sugar, packed
  5. 2 tablespoons Corn Syrup
  6. 5 large Eggs
  7. 3/4 cup Heavy Cream
  8. 3/4 cup Milk
  9. 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  10. 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  11. 2 teaspoons Grand Marnier or Cointreau
  12. Powdered Sugar (optional)
  13. * * * * Drunken Strawberries * * * *
  14. 1 quart Strawberries, hulled and sliced 1/4-inch thick (lengthwise)
  15. 1/4 cup Sugar
  16. 1/4 cup Grand Marnier or Cointreau
Preparation:

Make the French Toast

Butter a 9 by 13 baking dish.

In a small pot, melt the butter with the brown sugar and corn syrup. Stir together until the sugar is completely melted. Pour mixture into the baking dish.

Place the bread slices on top of the butter and sugar mixture in one even layer. Squeeze the edges slightly to make the bread fit.

In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, cream, milk, vanilla, salt, and 2 teaspoons of Grand Marnier. Pour this mixture over the bread. Tightly cover baking dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight.

Let dish stand at room temperature for 20 minutes before placing in preheated oven at 350 degrees.

Bake for 30 to 40 minutes until french toast is golden and puffed.

Serve hot with drunken strawberries and powdered sugar sprinkled on top.

Drunken Strawberries Combine sliced strawberries, sugar, and Grand Marnier in a small bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 hours up to 24 hours.
