Can I just say, I hate fog. HATE it.
The journey back tonight was through a patch of fog, and its the worst I've seen it, on a really windy road through the hills, we couldn't see the lines on the road, or the end of the bonnet. Driving at about 5 mph on a road supposed to be 40, we were scared we'd get hit from behind. We couldn't see the bends until it was almost too late, and they didn't have any cats eyes on the bends....which is stupid.
A couple of times we grazed the metal barrier on the outside edge of the road :S

:eek: so glad you are okay. i could almost feel your stress while reading.

That depends. Do you demand to choose the music when you drive? If so you may have control issues. :P

Pizza came! Woo Hoo.. see ya all later on.

Driving in fog is really scary. All you can do is go very slowly and get off the road as soon as you can. I'm glad you made it home safe.

From the little I saw, the public transportation in England (specifically England) is leaps and bounds above what can be found in the US of A.

I traveled all over the place on the trains, though when I was in London itself I walked everywhere. Only rode the tube once while there (I'm confusing myself here as to the correct words to use around tube. Subway being an underground passage/walkway there, and the underground train system here, if I remember correctly. Do you just say that you are riding on the train? tube? in the tube? underground transportation provided by means of a train-like object on tracks?). Rode the bus twice between cities.
Back a long time ago when I lived in England most people didn't own cars and you could definitely get from any where to anywhere else if you were willing to walk as far as the nearest bus stop or tube station. It was great.

cute.

side note - i swear i saw a decoration in someone's yard with almost the same exact cartoon train as in your pic.
This one was in a tunnel with another train track running below it and you could ride the train on the lower track.

[evil mode = off]

I had been having a very hard time trying to decide how to say Merry Christmas to all the great people I have met here in the forums and sl over the last year. The answer was provided by the ladies of this thread. I thank you all for your unwitting participation in wishing all of the people of the forums a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

I'm catching up a little late here, but, oh, Damien, this is lovely!

Since some of you don't read the forums over the weekend and therefore might not have seen this, I am reposting it here because it is a heartfelt wish from me to you:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My Wish for You in 2009
May peace break into your house and may thieves come to steal your debts.
May the pockets of your jeans become a magnet of $100 bills.
May love stick to your face like Vaseline and may laughter assault your lips!
May your clothes smell of success like smoking tires and may happiness slap you across the face and may your tears be that of joy.
May the problems you had forget your home address!
In simple words ...
May 2009 be the best year of your life!
Beautiful, Lil! Thank you!
And I agree with 3Ring... I have seen that train (behind you in the pic) in someone's front yard here in RL! :p
Thanks, Amara. :)
It's great that people are able to obtain these shoes for free...but it's a shame the designer had to set the price to 0L because of content theft. :(
Oh, Claire...SO glad you made it home safely.
My scariest fog story was when I was 20, and I was going to visit my grandparents for the Christmas holiday -- they lived in the Berkshire Mountains in Western Massachusetts. The Albany (New York) airport was closed due to blizzard conditions, so we were flown to another airport, and bused to the airport. Upon arrival (several hours late), my grandparents were still there...waiting for me....and my grandfather handed me the keys to his car...for ME to drive home....across the mountain pass...to Massachusetts.
Now mind you...I'd not driven in much snow before, since DC doesn't always get snow every year.
I inched along the roads..(I mentioned blizzard conditions, right???)...and upon reaching the Lebanon Mountain pass...FOG. FOG FOG FOG!!! So now I have snow...and fog....and my most precious cargo onboard.
I was never so happy to see my grandparents' house as I was that night.
REALLY glad you made it home safely, Claire. :)
Good morning Threadland!
It's -4F (-20C) here this morning. Yay! The old car protested being bothered. How dare I expect it to start..don't I know how cold it is? :D
Lil and Ann: More great pics. Thanks. Pics of the ladies in this thread always brighten the day.
Time to get the ole ears to work...before they freeze.
Cheers everyone. :)
Amara...were you flying over one of the winter-themed sims? I ask because my friend, Kit, was in one of them last night...and was talking to me via voice...and she shouted "OMG!!! Is that a space ship??? " I asked if she could see anyone in the ship...and she said she could see two people...and it looked as if they were taking a tour of the sim. :p
You two look fabulous. Sorry about Lexxi, though no seat belts on that contraption??? :D
